Republican Party must fall.
Why do I say this, because they are holding the nationalist movement down. Democrats must finish the republican party off, all I hear from Republicans is that we must evolve and accept the future of America, don’t fight population replacement and ethnic cleaning, embrace what is to come, don’t fight it, enjoy your death. I say NO! Time for the Republicrats to step down, embrace their own demise, and allow ethnic nationalism to rise to power. These morons don’t get it, the Latinos, Blacks, and Asians will continue to vote for their own race, since Regan, the Latino share of the republican party has declined, Bush Jr. received fewer Latinos votes in 2004 then his father received in the 80‘s, and still he pandered to them. The republican party panders to Latinos, Blacks, and Asians while the white base continues to erode and falter. This strategy cannot win, eventually we will have a one party nation, probably within the next couple of years, the time has come for whites to pull their collective heads out of their rears, and wake the hell up, why can Latinos, Blacks, and Asians vote for their own race, while whites should not? Why can 95% of blacks vote for Obama and not be called racists, understand this, Latinos, Blacks, and Asians are all for their own race, you white devils need to follow their example.

This is a video that seeks to demonstrate the consequences of allowing Islam to make inroads into a nation. It presents examples of civilizations whose populations are some percent Moslem (e.g., 5, 10, 25, 50 percent) and the social effects associated with each percentage. A critic could accuse it of being long on drama and short on explanations, but, nevertheless, it’s an effective and, I think, an essentially accurate presentation.
I do have to fault the video’s producer for having only shallow philosophical understanding, however. The narrator states that Islam is not a religion, that instead it is a way of life. But this is in fact a definition of any complete religion. If you understand the Truth, you’ll realize that a person who believes he knows it will understand that you cannot compartmentalize Truth. You cannot say, “I’ll be a Christian in church on Sundays but not when I do business.” In fact, anyone who understands Christianity deeply will realize that it addresses much of what Islam does; it just prescribes different behavior.
Also understand that the elements of society mentioned in the video have to be organized and governed by some values. Call them Islamic, Christian, Buddhist, secular or Fig Newton values, but they are values nonetheless. And, at the end of the day, the distinction between “religious” and “secular” is largely a false one. For there really are only two kinds of ideas: True ones and untrue ones. If God exists, than the idea that He does is true, and that is the only thing that matters. And if an ideology is invalid, such as communism, calling it secular doesn’t in any way mitigate its invalidity.
Anyway, I can’t do this subject justice here, but suffice it to say that the problem with Islam isn’t that it’s a way of life. It’s that it is a relatively dark way of life — much like secularism.

Are you like me, just totally fed up with the taking apart of our nation, unbelievable incompetence and purposeful betrayal by the so-called leadership in America?
It boils down to two variables: Power and greed…we the people are irritants to the power-brokers, of no consequence to the disgraceful government. The deceivers, manipulators are in our face, view us with disdain…I mean are you mad as hell, ready to make a meaningful difference, do whatever it takes to put “boots on the ground?
I would be preaching to the choir if I listed all the bottom feeder illegal and immoral actions that are destroying our nation…I will mention one item. Can you imagine our Founding Fathers reaction over a statement by the occupant of the White House that refers to a problem in America being “excessive greed”? Obama (and by the way he’s not my president) in commenting on the upheaval in Washington used the above phrase…as if greed is ok, (probably a Freudian slip on his part) the problem comes as he views it, with “excessive greed”. Is there any doubt that his compass has gone south?
How can we as Americans stand-by and do nothing, allowing our nation and hundreds of thousands of warrior lives to be treated as so much fodder for the political grist mill? Now I know patriots are doing things, maybe you, but we’re not doing enough. We’re not stopping the insanity in Washington, D.C. and other greedy and power-hungry pockets of power that is creating national destruction. It goes on and on and cannot stand…we simply must rise up, come together and reduce the fragmented, isolated pockets of patriotic support…act as a massive force of millions, shoulder to shoulder.
The time is here…we cannot wait. Americans can no longer risk losing our nation to the greedy, self-serving, despicable politicians, corporations, money launderers, immoral murderers, that are making a mockery of our US Constitution and Republic principles.
This note is not about business as usual…we have been talking a good game but the talking must stop with millions of Americans taking to the streets on April 15 Tea Party Day. We must let our numbers do the talking all across America…this is not an invitation to stand-up, it demands our attention because we have no alternative but to stand-up…if we don’t we are contributing to national destruction by our absence.
The April 15 Tea Party folks have a nation-wide organization, all States, many cities in each State already making preparations to field millions of Americans to raise our voices in a “massed force” that will totally jolt the entire nation. This is not about some few hundred or a few thousand people in specific cities…this is about millions in major cities, hundreds of thousands in medium cities, and tens of thousands in smaller cities all across America……there are other dates and times for Tea Parties which is good, but April 15th must be a gigantic outpouring or the media and politicians will view us as a weak, fragmented movement and they will continue their dishonorable direction.

The Breitbart web site says: “President Barack Obama will present plans for immigration reform this year, Hispanic lawmakers said Wednesday after strategic talks at the White House. Obama ‘was clear and eloquent and determinate to let us know that we are all together in the route of comprehensive immigration reform,’ Democratic lawmaker Luis Gutierrez told reporters after the discussion between the president and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC).”
In other words, the President of the United States sat down with Mexicans in the White House and conspired with them to destroy the country.
“Obama will convene a public forum on the issue probably in two months, according to New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez. The White House said in a statement that the meeting was robust and strategic and that Obama will work with CHC members to address immigration reform in both the short and long term.”
In other words we’re going to have amnesty rammed down our throats by the Democrats, and there’s not a damned thing we can do about it.

Jug-Ears and McCain tried amnesty in 2006 and 2007, and both times White people managed to scream and curse and shout so loudly that they backed off, rather like a wounded man lying all alone in the wilderness can sometimes manage to frighten off the buzzards by screaming and shouting and throwing sticks. But the buzzards always come back.
Now everybody has either lost their job or is so terrified of losing their job that they will be too frightened and confused and distracted to put up much of a fight, and so millions of Mexicans and other Third World scum who are taking those jobs will be rewarded for breaking the law by being made permanent residents, including the loathsome “macacas”, the Asian-trained engineers and IT workers who have displaced hundreds of thousands of Americans in the highly-paid technical industries.

The current economic crisis will ruin the western societies and drive them to chaos so that in the end the Europeans will have nothing left but hate, fear and despair. All the symptoms are clearly visible: The out break of FUROR EUROPEICUS is nigh. Everything that happens today serves our cause – the old dying world cannot save itself and the elite of the dying world cannot do even one thing right. Everything the elite does will only prepare ground for its own downfall. The elite is always the mirror image of the world it rules – in a world that is destined to die, a reverse evolution takes place and only inept fools will rule – Louis XVI and Nicholas II were no unfortunate accidents but examples of a pattern in history. I have also been coming to similar conclusions as of late. A few observations from my perch in multiracial America.
1) The Left has lost its patience and abandoned all prudence in its desire to liquidate the West, and its organic race, immediately. Pronto. The safe bet would have been to continue its brainwashing regimen at a reasonable pace while continuing to install White male puppets. The consequences for such an overreach, especially at this critical juncture for international capitalism, could be as profound as Germany’s military overreach in WWII.
2) By denying all legitimacy to those who would preserve the Euro-White heritage(s) the Left has been fostering the creation of monsters who will give back a double portion for what has been done to us when our cages are finally loosed. The consequences for what they have done will be the permanent eradication of the humanist Left from the Western cosmos, the first order of business when anything resembling our views reclaims political power.
3) By foolishly excusing the barbaric behavior of non-White ethnics while simultaneously encouraging their immigration the Left is brewing nothing less then the very societal chaos and disorder that will be its own undoing. History will not stand such a contradiction in governance to go interminably unpunished.
4) The societal breakdown, and the chaos that it will unleash, is only being staved off by shared consumerist habits and economic fears, once the end comes it will seem obvious (in hindsight) that the economy was always the Left’s countdown clock. On that note, middle class White America may be unhappy with their situation but they aren’t about to risk the destruction of the very consumerist society that they rely upon for their daily bread (esp. at the urgings of nationalists). Time, Providence, and internal contradictions will have to be the undoing of this arrangement.
5) America is the lynchpin, the spiritual center, for the West’s professed faith in Left humanism [cultural Bolshevism]. The collapse of our government will do for the soft totalitarian Left what the collapse of the U.S.S.R. did for the hard totalitarian Left and herald the disintegration of the modern Left everywhere within the enervated West. Recent events make it hard not to feel optimistic; however it is still our responsibility to envision a future political system that will intelligently absorb the technological innovations of the 20th century. We must find a way to properly integrate our technological innovations into a society that is spiritually meaningful and politically protected from malevolent influence.

In the video here, Robert Welch, the founder of the John Birch Society, predicts today’s events with uncanny accuracy. He originally made the predictions in 1958 and recounted them here, in 1974.

The JBS originally concentrated on the “international Communist plot,” but by the 1960s Welch concluded that Communism was just a front for a Master Conspiracy. He pinpointed the conspirators in internationalist financial and business families such as the Rothschilds and Rockefellers and exposed the Bilderbergers, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission as organizations doing their work.

According to Rasmussen Reports, “Seventy-one percent (71%) of voters nationwide say they’re at least somewhat angry about the current policies of the federal government. That figure includes 46% who are Very Angry.
“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 27% are not angry about the government’s policies, including 10% who are Not at All Angry.”
The report goes on to say, “The data suggests that the level of anger is growing. The 71% who are angry at federal government policies today is up five percentage points since September.
“Even more stunning, the 46% who are Very Angry is up 10 percentage points from September.”
The report also states, “The latest numbers show that only nine percent (9%) of voters trust the judgment of America’s political leaders more than the judgment of the American people.” It further states, “Seventy-one percent (71%) believe the federal government has become a special interest group that looks out primarily for its own interests. Sixty-eight percent (68%) believe that government and big business work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors.”
Rasmussen Reports goes on to say that voter opposition to the proposed health care plan, government bailouts, and higher taxes is especially high.

That Americans are angry with the federal government is nothing new. As a general rule, Americans STAY angry with the federal government. So what? Nothing changes, anger and discontentment notwithstanding.
Oh! Occasionally, grassroots effort can be mustered in sufficient quantity to stop whatever happens to be the latest effort by the miscreants in Washington, D.C., that tramples our freedoms. But only occasionally. The only recent triumph I can think of was when G.W. Bush, Lindsey Graham, and John McCain tried to ram an amnesty bill for illegal aliens through Congress. But never fear, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid will pick up that particular baton soon enough.
I’m old enough to remember when giving the Panama Canal away was opposed by virtually everyone outside the Beltway. It changed nothing. Jimmy Carter and Congress gave it away, anyway. Most people oppose the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. So what? Our troops are not only still there, but more are on the way. Most people believe children should be allowed to pray and read the Bible in school. So what? They still are forbidden from doing so. Most people believed former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore had the right to post the Ten Commandments in his courtroom. So what? He was forced to take them down, anyway (and removed from office in the process). I could go on, but you get the point.
Anger and opposition to Washington’s policies and edicts–no matter now egregious–hardly ever translate into anything beyond words of frustration. And Washington politicians don’t pay much attention to rhetoric–not even their own.
You see, the wizards in Washington and on Wall Street have us figured out. Along with their compatriots in the propaganda press corps, they know that no matter how loudly we scream, how much we protest, or how angry we become, the system is rigged to protect them. The best we the people can seem to come up with is “throwing the bums out” every two or four years. BUT NOTHING CHANGES–at least, not in terms of restoring the fundamental principles of freedom and constitutional government.
Throw out George H.W. Bush in 1992, and nothing changes. Throw the Democrats out of Congress in 1994, and nothing changes. Throw Bill Clinton’s party out of the White House in 2000, and nothing changes. Throw out G.W. Bush’s Republicans in 2008, and nothing changes. The only thing that happens with a changing of the guard is an escalation in the pace of whatever version of socialism–or Big Government program–is currently in vogue. With Bush it meant expanding the Warfare State. With Obama it means expanding the Welfare State. But both do everything they can to expand Big Government.
When will we awaken to the reality that Washington, D.C., has had the American people chasing their tails for decades? People, wake up! As long as we continue to focus our attention and energy on Washington, D.C., we will only continue to supply more rope to those who wish to hang us.
Washington, D.C., is too far gone to salvage. Admit it! Washington is a cesspool, a landfill, and a putrid pond of corruption and duplicity. Neither the Republican nor Democratic Party will ever allow a principled constitutionalist to become its Presidential nominee. No matter whom we elect as President, the beat toward Big-Government socialism and one-world internationalism will go on without interruption. Big Government scalawags own the entire federal system, including Big Media, Big Business, Big Labor, Big Religion, and Big Special Interest Groups. They are all feeding at the government teat.
Therefore, it is absolutely obligatory that freedom-minded Americans refocus their attention to electing State legislators, governors, judges and sheriffs who will fearlessly defend their God-given liberties. And, as plainly and emphatically as I know how to say it, I am telling you: ONLY THE STATES CAN DEFEND OUR LIBERTY NOW! And awakening to this reality means we will have to completely readjust our thinking and priorities.
It means awakening to the fact that Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Bill O’Reilly (and the rest of Big Media’s talking heads) are, for the most part, irrelevant to providing real solutions to the continuing loss of liberty. And, in truth, they are, more often than not, part of the problem, because they continue to focus our attention on Washington, D.C., and off the source of genuine solution, which lies with the states drawing a constitutional line in the sand for freedom. Good grief! Beck and O’Reilly have recently even advocated for higher federal taxes! Yeah! That’s a real solution: more power and money to Washington, D.C. Ughhh!
Instead of getting all worked up about what Glenn Beck says or what Sarah Palin says or what CFR member and Big Government neocon Newt Gingrich says, start paying attention to what your State legislators and candidates are saying.
If we had more State legislators such as Washington State’s Matthew Shea; Georgia’s Bobby Franklin; Pennsylvania’s Sam Rohrer; New Hampshire’s Dan Itse; Michigan’s Paul Opsommer; Oklahoma’s Randy Brogdon, Sally Kern and Charles Key; Montana’s Rick Jore, Greg Hinkle, and Joel Boniek; Tennessee’s Susan Lynn; South Carolina’s Michael Pitts and Lee Bright; Missouri’s Jim Guest and Cynthia Davis; and sheriffs such as South Carolina’s Ray Nash, Arizona’s Richard Mack and Joe Arpaio, Montana’s Jay Printz and Shane Harrington, etc., it wouldn’t matter what those nincompoops inside the Beltway do. The federal government cannot violate your rights and steal your freedoms without the consent and approbation of your State government.
Folks, let’s get down to where the rubber meets the road: the reason we are in the miserable mess we are in is because the states have–either wittingly or unwittingly–ceded their authority and independence to Washington, D.C. Therefore, it is now critical that states reclaim their authority–authority that is duly granted them under the US Constitution.
All of us who call ourselves conservatives or constitutionalists or libertarians (who, no doubt, compose a majority, especially in “red” states) need to retake our State governments. Elect a governor who knows how to say “No” to the federal government. Elect a State legislature that knows how to say “No” to Washington, D.C. Elect sheriffs and State judges who understand the Constitution, State sovereignty, and the principles of freedom–and who are courageous enough to defend those sacred principles in the face of attempted federal usurpation.
The truth is, for all intents and purposes, we could turn off television completely and be in no worse shape. And newspapers are no better. The vast majority of them blatantly support and promote Big Government. As Mark Twain said, “If you don’t read the newspaper, you are uninformed; if you do read the newspaper, you are misinformed.”
With Big Media, it’s all about Washington politics. Period. For the most part, the conservative-liberal/Republican-Democrat paradigm is nothing but a distraction at best, and a scam at worst, to keep all of us safely on the federal reservation, where we are without hope or recourse to actually change anything.
Ladies and Gentlemen, freedom in America has only one hope: the resurrection of State independence and sovereignty. Fortunately, there are rumblings around the country that this revival has already begun.
The last time I checked, some 38 states have introduced Tenth Amendment resolutions–or some form of federal nullification proposals–in their State assemblies. To follow the status of various states’ rights initiatives, keep an eye on these two web sites:

If conservatives/constitutionalists/libertarians would spend as much time and energy influencing elections and policies at the State and local levels as they attempt to do at the national level, we could turn this floundering ship of state around. If he had the support and backing of his State’s legislature and sheriffs, imagine what ONE constitutionalist governor could do. I get goose bumps thinking about it!
Imagine a State with its own financial system–its own currency, banks, regulatory agencies, etc. Imagine a State with its own militia–under the authority of the governor only–completely independent from any responsibility to the President or federal government. Imagine a State with an education system unfettered by the federal Department of Education. Imagine a State where the BLM, the FBI, the ATF, and the DEA had to actually submit to State law. Imagine a State with no federal bribes, or federal “funding” as it is commonly called–except as is constitutionally constructed (with no strings attached). Imagine a State with its own health care system. Imagine a State with no FEMA–UNLESS INVITED IN. Imagine a State that would not allow Washington’s spooks to unlawfully spy on law-abiding citizens. Imagine a State that actually had a say in how much land the federal government could claim for its own. Imagine a State where citizens never had to worry about a national ID act. Imagine a State that would protect the right of its citizens to freely express their faith in the public square. Imagine a State that did not demand that its farmers put RFID computer chips in their livestock. Imagine a State that would let you drill a well without reporting it to the federal government. And for some really fun mind games, imagine a State that would be willing to challenge the constitutionality and legitimacy of the direct income tax and the IRS. All of this–and more–is attainable with a constitutionalist State government committed to protecting the liberties of its citizens.
I repeat: freedom in America has only one hope: the resurrection of State independence and sovereignty. In the US Constitution, our Founding Fathers sagaciously reserved to State governments their independence and sovereignty, knowing that they had the awesome responsibility of being the last (and greatest) vanguard of liberty for the American people. They never intended or imagined that the states would ever become a doormat for the central government (which is what most of them have become).
In this regard, the states that are proposing State sovereignty resolutions should immediately band together to overturn the 17th Amendment, because this amendment strips the states of their constitutional powers by turning US senators into Washington insiders, who are more beholden to Washington interests than the interests and well-being of the states that they are supposed to represent.
If the 71% of voters who are angry with the federal government would channel their energies into electing constitutionalist governors and State legislators, their anger might actually produce real and lasting change. As it is, efforts to “reform” Washington, D.C., are like trying to teach a hog to take a bath. Instead, let the hog wallow in the mud, but make sure the mudhole stays small; don’t let it spread to your back yard. And keeping that Washington mudhole small is the job of the states. And, in case you have not noticed, the mudhole has already grown to the point that it’s not just in your back yard; it’s on your front porch and about to consume your whole house.

What The New Census Bureau Projections Mean For Climate Change—And America

With President Obama barely back from the climate change conference in Copenhagen, his anti-global warming accord is evidently already working its wonders, unleashing a blizzard to blanket the East Coast with snow.
With climate in the news, it’s a good time to review the Census Bureau study of the factor that will have the single greatest impact on U.S. carbon emissions over the next 40 years: immigration.
With a couple of weeks left in the decade, the Census Bureau has finally gotten around to releasing What If? projections showing the impact of various immigration policies on America’s population (which is today 308 million):
“… a greater number of migrants arriving in the United States will correspond to a larger increase in the size of the total population. Under the assumption of a high level of net international migration, the population is expected to grow to 458 million by 2050. … “

That’s an increase of 150 million carbon-belching residents of America.
“In contrast, for the Zero Net International Migration series the population will increase slightly by 2050 to 323 million. “
That’s an increase of only 15 million.
In other words, immigration policy will determine whether the population grows over the next four decades by 150 million or by 15 million—an order of magnitude!
Although the new Census Bureau projections were released last week at the peak of the media frenzy over Copenhagen, not a single one of the 387 articles tabulated by Google News mentioned “carbon,” “climate,” or “warming.”
Americans are just not supposed to think about the link between immigration, population, and carbon emissions. Ignorance is Strength!
Mark Twain famously said: “Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it.” Yet the conventional wisdom in this decade has been that we should be passionately doing something—anything—about the weather, but not even talking about the population.
The Census Bureau’s 2009 projections are based on their 2008 projection, which I discussed in VDARE.com last year. The old forecast just assumed a single best-guess that the net number of immigrants would grow to over 2.0 million per year by 2050.
This year’s projections—which got a little publicity because they pushed back slightly the date at which whites are set to become a minority in America—feature four different scenarios regarding net immigration (see Figure 1 in the report). This allows us a much better understanding of effect of immigration:
- High Immigration: Net immigration grows to an annual rate of 2.4 million by 2050, and the total population reaches 458 million (of which 144 million would be Hispanic).
- “Low” Immigration: Net immigration reaches 1.7 million by the middle of the century, and the population climbs to 423 million (124 million Hispanics).
- Constant Immigration: The net number of immigrants stays flat at just under one million per year, and the population hits 399 million (111 million Hispanics).
- Zero Immigration: The number of immigrants equals the number of emigrants, and the population peaks at 323 million in 2050 (68 million Hispanics).
Please note something that the Census Bureau doesn’t quite make clear: “Zero Net International Migration” doesn’t mean zero immigration. It means that the number of emigrants and immigrants must be equal. Since a few hundred thousand people emigrate from the U.S. each year, a few hundred thousand immigrants per year could be accommodated under a policy of Zero Net International Migration.
You’ll notice that the Census Bureau’s “Low” immigration scenario is higher than the Constant scenario of under a million net immigrants per year. “Low” assumes almost a doubling of the annual number of immigrants over the next 40 years.
In other words, the Census Bureau is assuming, rightly, that without a major political effort to limit immigration, the annual number of immigrants will inevitably expand.
That’s because immigration naturally tends to feed upon itself. Moving to America becomes easier the more friends and relatives a potential immigrant already has in America.
In contrast, there are 240 million people in Indonesia, but the 2000 Census found only 63,000 Indonesians in this country. With so few friends and relatives currently established in the U.S., moving to America affords Indonesians a daunting prospect. Yet, if we allow the Indonesian beachheads in America to expand, eventually they will be large enough to attract an exponentially growing number of Indonesians. (And there are a lot of Indonesians…)
It’s instructive to extend out the scenarios from the Census Bureau’s stopping point in the year 2050 to 2100.
Under the High Immigration assumptions, the Census Bureau expects the annual increase in population to slowly decline from 1.06 percent in 2010 to 0.89 percent in 2050. If we assume the same rate of deceleration of growth in the second half of the century, down to a 0.64 percent annual increase by 2100, America’s population will then be 668 million.
That’s 668,000,000.
It would be intriguing to ask the Climate Change folks what they think about America’s population swelling to 668 million. But, of course, they wouldn’t answer. They’d just sputter and call you names.
Besides immigration rates, another key number in projecting populations is the Total Fertility Rate (the number of babies per woman per lifetime). The Census Bureau appears to be lowballing its forecasts by underestimating the Hispanic TFR. The Census number crunchers assume that the Latino Total Fertility Rate was 2.73 in 2001 and that it falls gently to 2.70 in 2010 and down to 2.29 in 2050.
In reality, the Hispanic Total Fertility Rate rose significantly in this decade, reaching 2.99 in 2007, the last year for which we have annual data. (I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if the Hispanic birth rate drops by 2009, due to high unemployment among Hispanics, especially construction workers following the bursting of the delusionary Housing Bubble.)
It’s crucial to understand the long run impact of high fertility rates among immigrants. When a country admits an immigrant, it is also admitting descendents unto the seventh generation.
Different cultures bring radically different fertility patterns to the U.S. We can’t afford to be oblivious to the implications any longer.
For example, in 2005, the TFR in California of foreign-born Latinas was 3.7, while it was 2.2 among American-born Latinas. This means that the typical Latina immigrant can expect to have over 8.1 grandchildren, or double the replacement rate. In contrast, Asian immigrant women in California can expect 2.8 grandchildren (2.0 TFR for the first generation and 1.4 in subsequent generations). American-born white women in California can expect to average 2.6 grandchildren each due to their 1.6 TFR.
Hence letting in a Hispanic immigrant leads to almost three times as many babies being born two generations from now as letting in an Asian immigrant, or an American woman moving to California from another state.
The long run political implications for the Republican Party of massive Hispanic immigration were spelled out by Antonio Gonzalez, head of a Latino voter registration group:
“If there is one group you could say that does not share the Republican small-government philosophy, it’s Latinos. … We are Big-Government, government-safety-net, activist-government [voters]. There is a feeling in the community that today we hurt, but tomorrow is ours, so you spend money on your kids, on your community, on your schools.”
You’ll note that Mr. Gonzales tellingly depicts the Hispanic political philosophy as “you spend money on your kids,” which is not at all the same as “you spend your money on your kids.” The tax money this Hispanic activist wants to spend on Hispanics is largely earned by non-Hispanics.
If Republicans won’t restrict immigration, they had better start thinking hard about sneakier ways to postpone the oncoming political deluge for a few decades. Aristotle pointed out that the inevitable problem with democracy occurs when the majority finally grasps they can vote themselves the wealth of the minority.
That can take quite awhile, fortunately. A VDARE.com donor in Texas, a state that does not have an income tax, suggested in an email:
“One of my theories is that Texas can hold on a really long time as a tolerably low-tax place for whites who can afford to insulate themselves, as it will be a long time before a majority could show up at the polls to push through an income tax necessary to start the wealth redistribution in bulk as in California.”
Clever “poison pill” amendments can delay the point at which future liberal majorities can redistribute wealth unchecked. In 1993, my reader pointed out, Texas voters passed a referendum requiring that any income tax initiated by the legislature must be submitted to the voters for approval. My reader explained:
“The constitutional amendment elections are in odd years with no other races on the ballot. This year’s turnout was eight percent, so no one even bothers to do an exit poll for demographic stats. I’m guessing it’s mostly white people who show up to vote. “
On the other hand, he adds:
“This is actually bad because once Texas does flip all the way, things will be much farther along before many middle class whites feel any pain.”
In the very long run, he guesses that the return of literacy tests for voting eligibility is the least unachievable way to disenfranchise enough Democrats to keep the country from keeling over.
That’s a good idea to keep in mind.
Of course, it would be simpler to win the battle for patriotic immigration reform now.

Generally speaking, genocide does not necessarily mean the immediate destruction of a nation, except when accomplished by mass killings of all members of a nation. It is intended rather to signify a coordinated plan of different actions aiming at the destruction of essential foundations of the life of national groups, with the aim of annihilating the groups themselves. The objectives of such a plan would be the disintegration of the political and social institutions, of culture, language, national feelings, religion, and the economic existence of national groups, and the destruction of the personal security, liberty, health, dignity, and even the lives of the individuals belonging to such groups.

Yoozio is the phonetic spelling of Józio, one of the diminutives of the Polish name Józef (Joseph). One must have earned a special affection to be promoted from the diminutive “Józek” to “Józio,” just as one does who is promoted from Joe to Joey.
Still in a café at the Market Square in Wrocław, I open my newly purchased books, to take a peak into the mind of a man as great and luminous as his close friend, Karol Wojtyła (aka John Paul II) was. Józef Tischner — Catholic priest, initial and providential pastor to the Solidarity insurrection, man of the people, highlander fond of his Góral folk culture, mountaineer, nature lover, social drinker, indefatigable teller of risqué jokes, resolutely celibate male whom women found irresistibly attractive, Doctor of Philosophy, friend of the brightest European minds of his generation, Dean of the Papal Academy of Theology and professor at the Jagiellonian University (est. 1364) in Kraków, prolific author – and “Yoozio” to his friends, particularly the shepherds among them.

Recently, I was at a boomer backyard barbecue in Boston.The males had Ivy League degrees and high incomes evident in subtle ways. He also said that since Barack Obama’s election he was at last able to breathe.

To square a circle is a common metaphor describing a futile attempt to solve the unsolvable. But a glance at the root of this metaphor may prove instructive.
Since ancient times, geometricians have tried to construct a square with the same area as a given circle by using only a finite number of steps with a compass and straightedge. Without going into the details, outside this author’s competence anyway, the challenge was invalidated as per the Lindemann–Weierstrass theorem, which proved that pi (π) is a transcendental rather than algebraic irrational number.

I used to live in San Francisco. The San Francisco that despite having been roiled by hippies, beatniks, anti-this-and-that, still had the feel of the charming, civilized town that it had been when Alfred Hitchcock was shooting his masterpieces there.
Observe the setting of Davidson’s Pet Shop in The Birds. It’s a staged scene, but this is San Francisco’s Union Square in 1962-3 and that is the way middle class people looked and dressed in San Francisco. Tippi Hedren is an upper class society girl in this movie, so perhaps her suit has a finer cut and her clutch purse a higher price tag – but watch the other people milling about (and don’t miss Hitch himself).

The agreement addresses many of the issues that leaders came here to settle. But it has left many of the participants in the climate talks unhappy, from the Europeans, who now have the only binding carbon control regime in the world, to the delegates from the poorest nations, who objected to being left out of the critical negotiations.
By the early hours of Saturday, representatives of the 193 countries who have negotiated here for nearly two weeks had not yet approved the deal and there were signs they might not. But Mr. Obama, who left before the conference considered the accord because of a major storm descending on Washington, noted that the agreement was merely a political statement and not a legally binding treaty and might not need ratification by the entire conference.
The three-page accord that Mr. Obama negotiated with the leaders of China, India, Brazil and South Africa and then presented to the conference did not meet even the modest expectations that leaders set for this meeting, notably by failing to set a 2010 goal for reaching a binding international treaty to seal the provisions of the accord.
Nor does the plan firmly commit the industrialized nations or the developing nations to firm targets for midterm or long-term greenhouse gas emissions reductions. The accord is nonetheless significant in that it codifies the commitments of individual nations to act on their own to tackle global warming.
“For the first time in history,” Mr. Obama said, “all major economies have come together to accept their responsibility to take action to confront the threat of climate change.”
The accord provides a system for monitoring and reporting progress toward those national pollution-reduction goals, a compromise on an issue over which China bargained hard. It calls for hundreds of billions of dollars to flow from wealthy nations to those countries most vulnerable to a changing climate. And it sets a goal of limiting the global temperature rise to 2 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels by 2050, implying deep cuts in climate-altering emissions over the next four decades.
But it was an equivocal agreement that was, to many, a disappointing conclusion to a two-year process that had the goal of producing a comprehensive and enforceable action plan for addressing dangerous changes to the global climate. The messy compromise mirrored the chaotic nature of the conference, which virtually all participants said had been badly organized and run.
In a news conference, Mr. Obama said the accord was only a tentative start down a long road.
“This progress did not come easily,” he said, “and we know that this progress alone is not enough.”
The accord sets no goal for concluding a binding international treaty, which leaves the implementation of its provisions uncertain. It is likely to undergo many months, perhaps years, of additional negotiations before it emerges in any internationally enforceable form.
Mr. Obama said before he left Copenhagen that he was confident that a final accord would be reached here. He looked weary and his eyes were bloodshot as he left the conference center for his motorcade to the airport.
Some environmental groups gave a cautious nod of approval to the agreement as a good start.
“The world’s nations have come together and concluded a historic — if incomplete — agreement to begin tackling global warming,” said Carl Pope, executive director of the Sierra Club. “Tonight’s announcement is but a first step and much work remains to be done in the days and months ahead in order to seal a final international climate deal that is fair, binding and ambitious. It is imperative that negotiations resume as soon as possible.”
Senator John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and lead author of the Senate’s climate change bill, said the accord would drive the Congress to pass climate change legislation early next year.
“This can be a catalyzing moment,” he said. “President Obama’s hands-on engagement broke through the bickering and sets the stage for a final deal and for Senate passage this spring of major legislation at home.”
But there were serious rumblings of discontent that could yet scuttle the deal.
Lumumba Stanislaus Di-Aping, a Sudanese diplomat who has been representing the Group of 77 developing countries, denounced the accord.
“The developed countries have decided that damage to developing countries is acceptable,” he told reporters, saying that the 2-degree target would “result in massive devastation to Africa and small island states.” He and many other representatives of the most vulnerable countries wanted a target of 1.5 degrees.
“Today’s events, which really are a continuation of the history of the negotiations for the last two years, represent the worst development in climate change negotiations in history,” Mr. Di-Aping said.
Mr. Obama’s announcement came late in a day that began with his 11-minute address to world leaders shortly after noon, and that was filled with brinksmanship and 11th-hour negotiations. Mr. Obama, whose speech included remarks that appeared pointed at China’s resistance to mechanisms for monitoring emissions reductions, met privately with Prime Minister Wen Jiabao afterward. But Mr. Wen did not attend two smaller, impromptu meetings during the day that Mr. Obama and United States officials conducted with the leaders of other world powers, an apparent snub that infuriated administration officials and their European counterparts.
The deal eventually came together after a dramatic moment in which Mr. Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton burst into a meeting of the Chinese, Indian and Brazilian leaders, according to senior administration officials. Mr. Obama said he did not want them negotiating in secret.
The intrusion led to new talks that cemented central terms of the deal, American officials said.
Sergio Serra, Brazil’s senior climate negotiator here, confirmed that Mr. Obama had joined a meeting of Brazilian, Indian, Chinese and other officials, although he did not say that Mr. Obama walked in uninvited.
“After several discussions had taken place, they were joined by President Barack Obama,” Mr. Serra said. “Several important decisions were taken — not a few due to Brazilian mediation — that we hope will bring a result, if not what we expected, that may be a way of salvaging something and pave the way to another meeting or series of meetings to get the full result of this proceeding.”
Jian Xiaoyan, a press officer with the Chinese government, said there was no one available to comment Friday night.
The agreement apparently grew out of a document that was being edited by high-ranking officials from some two dozen countries throughout the day. But many specifics that were included in earlier versions were excised in the document left on the table when Mr. Obama made his announcement, and many parties considered it at best a work in progress. The agreement contains several enumerated points asserting a general commitment to the idea that “climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time” and asserts that “deep cuts” in global emissions were required.
In at least one earlier version, the deal included a collective agreement among nations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2050 — with developed nations pledging as a bloc to reduce emissions by 80 percent over the same period. Those numbers were no longer in the version circulated after Mr. Obama’s announcement.
Also dropped from earlier drafts was language calling for a binding accord “as soon as possible,” and no later than at the next meeting of the parties, in Mexico City next November. The deal presented Friday evening said only that the agreement should be reviewed and put in place by 2015.
The document does lay out a framework for verification of emissions commitments by developing countries and for establishing a “high-level panel” to assess financial contributions by rich nations to help poor countries adapt to climate change and limit their emissions.
Many of the specifics remained to be negotiated, however.
Mr. Serra, the Brazilian diplomat, said that the process left many alienated, particularly the smaller countries that have little influence in a major international negotiation. Many involved in the process here suggested this would be the last time that 193 nations would gather in this way to negotiate such a complex accord.
“Certain groups like G-77 are not happy when a few people make decisions,” Mr. Serra said. “It’s not an inclusive exercise. Perhaps it can’t be.”

Obama Orders 1 Million US Troops To “Prepare For Civil War”
Russian Military Analysts are reporting to Prime Minister Putin today that US President Barack Obama has issued orders to his Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) top leader, US Air Force General Gene Renuart, to “begin immediately” increasing his military forces to 1 million troops by January 30, 2010, in what these reports warn is an expected outbreak of civil war within the United States before the end of winter.
According to these reports, Obama has had over these past weeks “numerous” meetings with his war council about how best to manage the expected implosion of his Nations banking system while at the same time attempting to keep the United States military hegemony over the World in what Russian Military Analysts state is a “last ditch gambit” whose success is “far from certain”.
And to Obama’s “last ditch gambit”, these reports continue, he is to announce in a nationwide address to his people this coming week that he is going to expand the level of US Military Forces in Afghanistan by tens of thousands of troops, while at the same time using the deployment of these soldiers as a “cover” for returning to the United States over 200,000 additional American soldiers from the over 800 bases in over 39 countries they have stationed around the Globe bringing the level of these forces in America to over 1 million, a number the US Military believes will be able to contain the “explosion of violence” expected to roil these peoples when they learn their economy has been bankrupted.
These reports further state that at the same time Obama will be attempting to keep his Nation from violent disintegration, the tens of thousands of additional troops he will send to Afghanistan are to be ordered to Kandahar where the Americans and their NATO allies will begin their final attempt to secure their TAPI (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India) pipeline, which without the Western Nations, due to their grave lack of alternative energy resources, and being cut off from these vast Central Asian supplies (which both Russia and China are seeking to insure), are warned will totally collapse.
Making the American’s (and by extension the West’s) situation even worse are new reports coming from the International Energy Agency stating that “under pressure” from the US government they have been “deliberately underplaying” a looming Global oil shortage for fear of triggering panic buying and raising the Americans fear over the end of oil supremacy because it would threaten their power over access to our World’s last remaining oil resources.
To the scariest “end game” maneuvers being made by Obama, in his attempt to protect Americas Global hegemony, is his record shattering move in plunging the United States $3.5 Trillion further into debt, and which raises the total amount owed by the United States, to its citizens and the World, to the unprecedented height of over $106 Trillion.
So alarming has Obama’s actions become (especially since they are being imitated by all of the Western powers) that the managing-director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dominique Strauss-Kahn, warned this past week that the “stimulus actions” of the West (which in essence is nothing more than the printing of money with nothing to back it up) has now become a “threat to democracy” as millions of people are expected to erupt in violence against their governments over the theft of their money and their futures.
Most unfortunately for the American people though is that this IMF warning fell on “deaf ears” in the United States with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President, James Bullard, saying this week that the US would continue its “stimulus actions” because they “would give more flexibility to US policymakers”, a most absurd statement especially when viewed in the light of the unprecedented debt payments currently looming over the American economy they have no ability whatsoever to pay.
To the ability of the West’s banking giants to save their Nation’s economies, even worse news came this week with the US ratings giant Standards & Poors issuing a warning that “every single bank in Japan, the US, Germany, Spain, and Italy included in S&P’s list of 45 Global lenders remain unsafe”, a warning which then lead to one of Europe’s largest banks, Société Générale, warning its clients to prepare for a “total Global Economic Collapse”.
To the fears of Obama over the United States erupting into civil war once the full extent of the rape and pillaging of these peoples by their banks and government becomes known to them, grim evidence now shows the likelihood of this occurring much sooner than later, especially in new poll figures showing that Obama’s approval rating among white Americans has now fallen to 39%. A number made more significant when one realizes that the white population of the United States comprises 74% of their estimated 398 million citizens, or put more ominously in these reports as “over 220 million American people armed to the teeth and ready to explode”.
And so fearful has the white population of the United States become that upon the election of Obama to the Presidency he was named as the “Gun Salesman of the Year” by the Outdoor Wire, the US’s largest daily electronic news service for the outdoor industry, who report “panic buying” of weapons and ammunition by those fearful of the destruction of their country at the hands of man they believe is not even an American citizen and had been foisted upon them by their elite classes seeking to enslave them.
Though the coming civil war in the United States is being virtually ignored by their propaganda media, the same cannot be said of Russia, where leading Russian political analyst, Professor Igor Panarin has long warned that the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the US is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.
Professor Igor Panarin further stated in his warning that “the US Dollar is not secured by anything. The country’s foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse.”
What remains to be seen, and these reports do not speculate upon, is if the citizen-soldiers of the United States will fire upon and kill their fellow countrymen during the coming conflict, but if history is to be our guide clearly shows this will be the case as the once great American Nation continues its headlong plunge into the abyss of history. May God have mercy upon all of them.

Locust: This is all correct, but the timing is off, I see the economic shoe coming down 2010-2011, then a build up to civil unrest as taxes crush the life out of our middle class whites, then slowly but surely wolf cells will mobilize and fight back, the feds will crack down hard, and the backlash will be even larger, and then civil war with a sprinkle of ethnic cleansing.

What could possibly go wrong?
According to the Pew Hispanic Center’s National Survey of Latinos, more than half (52%) of Latinos ages 16 to 25 identify themselves first by their family’s country of origin, be it Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republican, El Salvador or any of more than a dozen other Spanish-speaking countries. An additional 20% generally use the terms “Hispanic” or “Latino” first when describing themselves. Only about one-in-four (24%) generally use the term “American” first.
Among the U.S.-born children of immigrants, “American” is somewhat more commonly used as a primary term of self-identification. Even so, just 33% of these young second generation Latinos use American first, while 21% refer to themselves first by the terms Hispanic or Latino, and the plurality-41%-refer to themselves first by the country their parents left in order to settle and raise their children in this country.
I’m sure they’re going to assimilate any day now, any day now…
The truth is that our “elites” have known about this for some time now, folks like the Chamber of Commerce thought this was just peachy just so long they got their cheap compliant slave labor. I often mention that we used to run a blog fighting illegal immigration, well, one of the reasons that I got involved in that Sisyphean struggle was because I was there when illegal immigration took off like a rocket in the eighties.
I was working at a little one off hot dog stand near O’Hare during the time of the ‘86 amnesty. what was odd was that before the amnesty there were some illegals around, but not a lot it was still sort of rare, but after the amnesty they just seemed to be everywhere and in pretty short order Americans didn’t need to bother applying for restaurant work anymore.
It was a genocide against American workers, it always has been and always will be. The importation of serf peons, a Helot class, historically, always ends badly, usually with a lot of bloodshed.
And our elites knew this from very early on, they knew. So when they suggest in their most innocent breathy voice, I guaran-fricken-T you they are lying. They have always known that this would be a problem and were more than willing to listen to and take campaign money from short sighted business folk who allied themselves with the Left who see the Helot class as the vanguard to overthrow capitalism (how many ironies can dance on the head of a pin Bob?).
While I am absolutely a capitalist I am not one of those who thinks that having a billion dollars = smart, or ethical for that matter. there used to be at least the idea of egalitarianism in this country and I think that has been lost, and I think illegal immigration had a lot to with the death of respect for blue collar work.

The final chapter has been written for the lone bookstore on the streets of Laredo. [That's Laredo, Texas, not Nuevo Laredo across the Rio Grande in Mexico.]
With a population of nearly a quarter-million people, this city could soon be the largest in the nation without a single bookseller.
The situation is so grim that schoolchildren have pleaded for a reprieve from next month’s planned shutdown of the B. Dalton bookstore. After that, the nearest store will be 150 miles away in San Antonio.
The B. Dalton store was never a community destination with comfy couches and an espresso bar, but its closing will create a literary void in a city with a high illiteracy rate. Industry analysts and book associations could not name a larger American city without a single bookseller.
“Corporate America considers Laredo kind of the backwater,” said the city’s most prolific author, Jerry Thompson, a professor at Texas A&M University International who has written more than 20 books.
Since the closing was announced, book lovers in Laredo have flocked to the small store located between City Trendz (”Laredo’s No. 1 Underground Hip Hop Shop”) and a store that offers $4 indoor go-kart rides to stock up on their favorite titles.
I’m sure the local Wal-Mart sells bestsellers as well. And there’s Amazon.com.
Still, I probably spend a couple of hours per week in my local bookstore, a big Barnes & Noble that fills what used to be the local movie theater. It’s not necessary to my life, but it’s certainly a civilized amenity.
The future doesn’t look terribly apocalyptic to me. In fact, it probably won’t even be worse than the present, mostly due to the beneficent workings of Moore’s Law. But the opportunity cost …

A Suggested Survival List
One does not have to be a prophet to know that we are on the precipice of some potentially catastrophic–or at the very least, challenging–days. In fact, most of us are already in challenging days, and some are already enduring catastrophic events. That is, if one would call being out of work, losing one’s home, facing life-threatening medical conditions without any prospect of medical insurance, several families being forced to live in one house due to homes being foreclosed, etc., catastrophic.
The potential for an escalation of cataclysmic events, however, is very real. Only a “blooming idiot” would call someone who attempts to prepare for “the day of adversity” a Chicken Little now. Anyone who does not see the storm clouds on the horizon isn’t paying attention.
For example, can one imagine what would happen if terrorists nuked a major American city or cities? (Once again, I encourage readers to go get the videos of the CBS TV series “Jericho“ to get an idea of how quickly life, and even civilization, could change.) Imagine if there was another 9/11-type event. What would happen if some form of Zimbabwe-style inflation hit the US? What would happen if anything disrupted the distribution of Welfare checks, or food to local grocers? Imagine a Hurricane Katrina-style natural disaster in your town. I think people everywhere are beginning to awaken to just how vulnerable we all really are.
As a result, people from virtually every walk of life have recently been asking my thoughts on how they should prepare. Therefore, I will attempt to share with my readers some of the counsel I have given these folks.
First, a disclaimer. I am not an economist; I am not a survival expert; I am not a firearms expert; I am not an attorney; I am not a physician. In fact, I am not an expert in anything! For several years, however, I have tried to learn from others. I am an avid reader. My work has allowed me to travel extensively. I have had the privilege of sitting at the feet of–and learning from–many of America’s most learned, most trained, and most qualified “experts” in a variety of fields. What I write today, I have learned from others. I’ve formed my own opinions and priorities, of course, but everything I’m sharing has been said, or written about, before. But if I can share something in today’s column that will help someone be better prepared for the days to come, then my goal will have been achieved.
Location:
First, analyze your living conditions. Where do you live? Do you live in an urban or rural environment? Is it a big city or small town? Do you live in an apartment or condominium? How close are your neighbors? Do you even know your neighbors? Would you trust them if the electricity was off and they were hungry? Could you grow your own food, if you had to? How easily could you secure your home? If you live in a cold weather environment, how long could you stay warm without electricity? These are the kinds of questions you need to ask yourself now.
Over the past several decades, masses of people have migrated into large metropolitan areas. More people live in urban areas than at any time in American history. While this may be well and good for times of prosperity, it is an absolute nightmare in any kind of disaster. Does anyone remember what New Orleans looked like after Hurricane Katrina came through? Can anyone recall what happened in downtown Los Angeles during the 1992 riots? Needless to say, any inner-city environment could become a powder keg almost instantaneously, given the right (or wrong) circumstances. And the bigger the city, the bigger the potential problems.
If you live in the inner city, I suggest you consider moving to a more rural location. Obviously, now is a very good time to buy property (especially rural property), but the downside is, selling property is not as favorable. If you can afford it, now is a great time to buy a “safe house” outside the city. If you are fortunate enough to have family or some true friends nearby, you might want to put your heads–and some resources–together in preparation for serious upheaval. Obviously, a team of prepared people is much better than being alone.
If you must stay in your urban location, have some commonsense plans in hand in the event of a major disaster. Get to know your neighbors: find out whom you can trust and whom you can’t. Keep some extra gasoline on hand, in case you need to get in your car quickly and leave. Have several exit routes planned ahead of time, in case roads are blocked. Have a “bug-out” bag containing essential ingredients to live on for 3 or 4 days. If leaving is not an option, have a plan to secure your home as best you can. You’ll need to think about things such as food, water, medicine, warmth, self-defense, etc. But at this point, to do nothing is absolute lunacy!
Provisions:
During a major disaster, food will quickly disappear. Living for over 3 decades on the Gulf Coast, I can tell you with absolute certainty that whenever disaster strikes (usually an approaching hurricane, for us), food and provisions at the store sell completely out in a matter of a few hours. People panic, and within hours, you cannot find food, bottled water, ice, generators, batteries, candles, etc. In a matter of hours, every gas station in the area will be completely out of gas. Not days. Hours!
Furthermore, almost all disasters include a complete loss of electricity. The water supply is compromised. Bottled water becomes more valuable than bank accounts. Dehydration becomes a very real and present danger. I remember witnessing a man offer an ice vendor $100 for an extra bag of ice during Hurricane Ivan. My wife and I went 2 weeks (14 days) without electricity in the aftermath of that hurricane. Believe me, I got a taste of just how precious bottled water, ice, batteries, generators, fuel, etc., can become.
I suggest you have a supply of food and water to last at least 2 weeks. A month would be even better. Personally, I can live a long time on tuna fish or peanut butter. You can purchase MREs from a variety of sources, as well as “camp-style” packaged food from stores such as Academy Sports & Outdoors. Of course, bottled water is available everywhere during normal times. Stock up! Plus, I suggest you have some water purification tablets or a Katadyn water filter on hand. And, if you are able, prepare to grow your own food. Canning food is another very helpful hedge against deprivation. If your parents were like mine, this was standard operating procedure.
Get a generator. Keep a supply of fuel on hand. Stay stocked up on batteries, candles, portable lights, first aid supplies, and personal hygiene items–especially toilet paper. Trust me, during times of intense and prolonged disaster, toilet paper could become more valuable than money. I also suggest you never run out of lighters or matches. You never know when you’ll need to build a fire, and during a prolonged survival situation, fire could save your life. If you live in a cold weather climate, you probably already have some sort of wood stove or fireplace.
Obviously, you need to take stock of your clothing. Do you have clothes suitable for extended outdoor activity? What about boots? During a disaster, you would trade your best suit from Neiman Marcus for a good pair of boots. Do you have gloves? Insulated underwear? What about camouflage clothing? These could become essential outerwear in the right conditions. Plus, any “bug-out” bag will need to include spare clothing.
And one more suggestion, while we’re on this subject: the best resources in the world are of little use if one is physically incapable of making good use of them. In other words, GET IN SHAPE. During any kind of emergency situation, physical exertion and stamina become immensely important.
Commodities:
I suggest you have at least some cash on hand. Just about any and all disasters will result in banks being closed for extended periods of time. That also means credit card purchases being suspended. You need to have enough cash to be able to purchase essential goods (if they are even available) for an undetermined amount of time.
Of course, some survival gurus insist that during any cataclysmic climate, precious metals will become the only reliable currency. But when most of us are trying to feed our families and pay our bills, it is difficult to get excited about buying gold and silver. Obviously, I would never recommend that anyone jeopardize the present on the altar of the future. My parents made it through the Great Depression with canned goods and garden vegetables; gold and silver were certainly not a priority with them. And maybe it should not be with you, either?
In fact, in a disaster, what is considered a valuable commodity can change rather quickly, as the barter system takes a life of its own. What is valuable is determined by what you need and how badly you need it. In a prolonged disaster, simple things such as toilet paper, canned goods, ammunition, and clothing could become extremely valuable; while cars, video games, televisions, etc., could be reduced to junk status. In antiquity, wars were fought over things such as salt.
Speaking of cars, remember that during a prolonged “national emergency” that might involve some sort of nuclear attack or widespread civil unrest, an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) might be employed; in which case, most every late model vehicle would be completely inoperable. Accordingly, if one can keep an older, pre-computer-age vehicle in good working order, he or she might be driving the only non-government vehicle capable of going anywhere.
Self-Defense:
Needless to say, during any kind of disaster, your safety and protection will be completely up to you. If you really think that the police are going to be able to protect you during an upheaval, you are living in a dreamworld.
In both the New Orleans and Los Angeles disasters, police protection was non-existent. Lawless gangs quickly took control of the streets, and people were left to either defend themselves or swiftly become the helpless prey of violent marauders. In fact, in New Orleans, some of the policemen actually abandoned their oaths to uphold the law and joined with the criminals, turning their weapons upon the public.
Face it, folks: in any kind of disaster, you must be able to defend yourself, or you and your family will be meat for these animals of society that will quickly descend without mercy upon the unprepared, unsuspecting souls around them. This requires that you be armed! It also requires that you be skilled enough to be able to efficiently use your arms.
Therefore, I strongly suggest that you purchase firearms sufficient to keep you and your family safe, and also that you practice sufficiently to know how to proficiently use them.
Now, when it comes to a discussion of which firearms are preferable for self-defense, the suggestions are as varied as the people who proffer them. These are my suggestions:
I believe every man (along with his wife and children of adequate age) should be proficient with the following weapons: a handgun in .38 caliber or above, a .22 rifle, a center-fire hunting rifle, a semi-automatic battle rifle, and a shotgun.
My personal preference for a self-defense handgun is either a .45 ACP 1911 (either Colt or Kimber) or a .40 S&W. In the .40 caliber, my favorite is a Glock 23. In the 1911, I like the Commander size configuration. I also like the Glock 30 and 36 in .45 caliber. My wife prefers to carry a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver in the snub-nose, J-frame configuration. But this is primarily due to the reduced weight of these weapons for carry purposes. If needed, she could make a good accounting of herself with a Glock 19 in 9mm. If you are someone who has never owned and seldom fired a handgun, I recommend you buy a Glock. They are as simple as revolvers to operate, reliable, and almost indestructible. Plus, they provide increased magazine capacity, and are safe. They are also very easy to disassemble and clean.
For a .22 rifle, I really like the Ruger 10/22. For a hunting rifle, my suggestion is either a .270 or .30-06 caliber bolt-action rifle. (If I had to pick one, I’d pick the .30-06.) I prefer the Remington Model 700 BDL, but there are several fine weapons in this configuration and caliber by numerous manufacturers. For a battle rifle, I suggest an AR-15-style weapon in .223 caliber. Here I prefer a Bushmaster. (Please, I don’t need to hear from all you .308 lovers out there. I love the Springfield M1A, too.) For a shotgun, I suggest a 12-gauge pump. Here I prefer a Winchester Model 1300, which is not made anymore. So, you’ll probably have to choose between Mossberg and Remington.
Whatever you choose, practice with it to the point that you are able to use it proficiently. And be sure you stock up on ammunition. A gun without ammo is reduced to being either an expensive club or a cumbersome paperweight.
Spiritual Power:
I firmly believe that man is created to have fellowship with his Creator-God. I really don’t know how people can face the uncertain future that we currently face without the spiritual knowledge, wisdom, comfort, and power that is made available through Jesus Christ. I believe the maxim is true: “Wise men still seek Him.” I strongly suggest that you seek to possess a personal relationship with God’s only begotten Son.
That we are facing challenging days is a certainty. Exactly what that means is yet to be determined. I trust that some of my suggestions will help you be better prepared for what lies before us.
