The Race of Ancient Egyptians
March 10, 2009 by guywhite
My two posts on the hair of Ancient Egyptians (here and here) provoked a great deal of controversy (I allowed it on the first post, but limited it on the second to avoid repeat of the same arguments) among the Afro-centrists who contend that people of all races may have any hair color.
This is true, but it is only very unusual for non-whites to have blond, brown or red hair. To suggest that a society where a large majority has blond, brown or red hair is non-white because there may be some non-whites with out-of-the-ordinary hair color is an equivalent of suggesting that a room full of people with b, c and d cups may be all-male because there are some rare men who have developed breasts.
For whites, it is normal to have red, blond and brown hair. For all others, it’s an exception, an abnormality, an out-of-the-ordinary event.
There is also the matter of hair texture. Again, blacks may have wavy hair and so may Asians. But in the vast majority of cases, blacks have curly hair and Asians have straight hair. The hair of the Ancient Egyptians conforms to the texture that is very common among whites, and very, very uncommon among all other races.
Most importantly, this is just one of a series of articles on Ancient Egypt. It is just one point I’ve made and there are many other issues addressed here. The other points are harder to argue against, so the Afrocentrists just choose to attack the argument about hair, as if all the races have the same color and texture of hair.
But consider all the other arguments:
The neighbors of the Egyptians, such as the Libyans and the Carthaginians were white.
There is DNA evidence conducted on Ancient Egyptians showing them to be white.
Their dental records are similar to those of Greeks.
Their hair is “normal” for whites and highly abnormal for all others.
The mummies look clearly white.
All the garbage about Egyptians being black are lies. These studies were conducted in the wrong place – southern colonies Egypt conquered. It’s like conducting a DNA study on Zimbabweans and then claiming that British people are black because Zimbabwe was once colonized by Britain. The (false) logic is identical.
The other type of studies is two thousand years after the time we think of as “Ancient Egypt” when parts of Egypt were colonized by others, including very briefly small parts of Egypt were colonized by the Nubians (who are mostly black, but have significant white DNA) who pronounced themselves Pharaohs of Egypt in the place they conquered. This was a common practice in ancient times and other nations that conquered Egypt when it was weak similarly declared themselves Pharaohs. Neither Nubians nor Libyans nor Greeks nor Romans nor anyone else was a real Egyptian Pharaoh, despite their claims.
When talking about Ancient Egypt, you must talk about the right place and the right time.
With that said, I will not allow any further comments on Ancient Egypt unless they do one of the following:
1) Address all these issues, from DNA to hair; or
2) Present their own new information proving Egyptians to be black.
You can’t just say, “any race could have one or two people who are blond, so therefore, the Ancient Egyptians must’ve been black.”
That is not a legitimate argument. I addressed many issues – DNA, art, facial features – and you can’t read one thing and attack it when it is only part of a bigger argument. If a person has Caucasian hair, Caucasian dental records, Caucasian facial features and Caucasian DNA, it’s not a coincidence. If it looks like a duck, it would be something else in a rare case, but if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, trust me, it’s not an African bee.
Nor would disproving what I’ve written prove that Egyptians were black. Let’s say that DNA evidence showing them to be white is unreliable (really? would you call it unreliable if your wife’s child had DNA not linking him to you?). It doesn’t prove that they were Black anymore than it proves that they were Japanese. Even if I am wrong, they could still be Caucasoid.
I already allowed plenty of the above-described Afrocentric arguments. Having 50 more people write the same thing will not add anything. As leftists, no doubt you will think that I am blocking your comments because you are so smart and not because you are arguing in a dishonest way and I already allowed all the same arguments. But please check the comments section first. If your thoughts were already expressed by 10 other people, why do they need to be repeated?
Egyptian Mummies with Blond, Brown and Red hair

MANDATORY WARNING FOR ALL ANCIENT EGYPT POSTINGS AND COMMENTS:
My two posts on the hair of Ancient Egyptians (here and here)
This post is part of other arguments presented here.
You must go to the above link before you leave a comment here. I will also NOT allow anyone to suggest that any race could have any hair because the argument has been made in several posts and was answered several times (the hair of Ancient Egyptians is very common among whites and very uncommon among others, so the fact that all the major Egyptian figures had hair similar to whites shows that it is not just one guy here and there who had unusual hair color and texture, but rather all of them were part of the white race). Please go to the link above to see all the articles addressing it.
The hair argument is also part of a much bigger picture. It is NOT just the hair, it is also dental records and even DNA.
You must address all these issues instead of making a ridiculous argument that just because some blacks rarely have Caucasian-like hair, then that proves that Egyptians were black. The argument is preposterous on several levels that Afrocentrists are usually too dumb to understand.
Onto the post itself:
It seems like nothing sparks blacks like Ancient Egyptians. They seem much more agitated over Egypt than questions such as IQ, crime and affirmative action. So here’s some more:
- Queen Hetop-Heres II, of the Fourth Dynasty, the daughter of Cheops, the builder of the great pyramid had reddish blond hair. Her hair is painted a bright yellow stippled with little red horizontal lines, and her skin is white. (‘The Races of Europe’, Carleton Stevens Coon, New York City, Macmillan. 1939, p.98)
- Egyptian Female Pharaoh, Queen Hatshepsut, wife of Pharaoh Thutmosis II. She ruled Egypt after Thutmosis’ death in 1520 BC. Her hair was long and blond (see her mummy below).
- Biblical Joseph was Egyptian Prime Minister Yuya. His mummy was recovered and he had light, blond hair.
Below is a picture of his mummy:

- Queen Tiy (Taia,Tyre) was the daughter of Yuya. She was the mother of Akhenaten and the great grandmother of Tutankhamen.. She’s the most famous of Egypt’s queens in 18th Dynasty Egypt. This statue was found in the Temple of Hathor near the turquoise mines. Equally blond and Caucasian as you can see.

- Ramses II: Professor P. F. Ceccaldi, a famed Egyptologist, studied his mummy. Microscopic examinations showed that the hair roots contained natural red pigments, and that therefore, during his younger days, Ramesses II had been a red head. With age, his hair got even lighter. He also had wavy hair common among whites.
- Queen Hatshetrut had wavy, red hair. Here’s her picture:

Sitkamos with curly hair.

Unknown mummy, the first from the British museum morgue, one from the Hancock museum. This woman is from about 700 BC, and she has dead straight hair that looks very red:

Egyptian man from the year 600 BC from the same British Museum morgue:

Princess Nsikhonsu, with long wavy brown hair:

And another mummy with straight, brown hair:

One easy way to tell a white person from a black person is the hair.
Blacks have thick, curly hair. Asians have very straight hair. Whites can be all of the above, but more often than not, have slightly wavy hair. It’s at times difficult to tell a difference between Asian and White hair. But it’s always very easy to tell the difference between Black and White hair.
Let’s look at the pictures of women as painted by ancient Egyptians. There’s nobody who suggests that they were Koreans or Japanese, so no reason to compare their hair to Orientals. However, there is an ongoing debate (between legitimate scientists and demagogues who teach African-American studies) on whether they were White or Black.
So take a look at the hair of Ancient Egyptian women. If you think I selected only the pictures that help my argument, please google “ancient egyptian art” and you will realize that there was not a single Ancient Egyptian painting where anyone had an Afro.
