This slut makes more from welfare than a nuclear physicist! What’s wrong with this picture, white America? How much longer will you tolerate this crap?


I was speaking to an emergency room physician this morning. He told me that a woman in her 20s came to the ER with her 8th pregnancy. She stated, “My momma told me that I am the breadwinner for the family.” He asked her to explain. She said that she can make babies and get money for the family. It goes like this: The grandma calls the Department of Child and Family Services and states that the unemployed daughter is not capable of caring for these children. DCFS agrees and states that the child or children will need to go to foster care. The grandma then volunteers to be the foster parent, and thus receives a check for $1500 per child per month in Illinois.

Total yearly income: $144,000 tax-free, not to mention free healthcare (Medicaid) plus a monthly card entitling her to free groceries, etc, and a voucher for 250 free cell phone minutes per month. This does not even include WIC and other welfare programs. Indeed, grandma was correct in that her fertile daughter is the “breadwinner” fo’ de family.

The Suicidal Paradigm – A Conversation With Ole Jørgen Anfindsen

I recently had the privilege to exchange a series of questions with Norwegian author and pundit Ole Jørgen Anfindsen via e-mail. Anfindsen’s writings on race, gender, and political correctness have appeared in major publications, and provide a rare corrective to the prevailing orthodoxies about those subjects. He founded the English- and Scandinavian-language website HonestThinking.org with his brother Jens Thomas, and is currently its editor. His recent book Selvmordsparadigmet (The Suicidal Paradigm) features original contributions by Roger Scruton, Henry Harpending and Frank Salter, and Fjordman.

Svein Sellanraa: You often write about race and immigration. Explain your basic position on these issues and how it differs from prevailing opinion in Norway and the West.

Ole Jørgen Anfindsen: The existence of racial differences, including in average IQ and other mental abilities and dispositions, is proven beyond any reasonable doubt. Experts disagree among themselves as to the relative importance of nature and nurture when it comes to explaining said differences, but the completely extreme position that they are all due to environmental factors only has never really been tenable, and can now safely be dismissed as plain stupid; anyone who subscribes to such a view is simply ignorant or dishonest. This is so because, as many have pointed out before me, you cannot have populations living apart for several generations without genetic differences accumulating.

Not only have various races and ethnic groups been subject to different selective pressures through centuries or millennia, and therefore evolved differently in terms of personality traits, general intelligence, and more, we all have an inherent tendency to identify with and prefer those with whom we are closely related, genetically speaking, i.e., our own people. This follows as a corollary of William D. Hamilton’s groundbreaking insight about gene-centric evolution (popularized in particular by Richard Dawkins in his international bestseller The Selfish Gene). While I am a great admirer of Dawkins’ unparalleled ability to popularize science, I think he has thus far failed to live up to his responsibility as one of the world’s most influential intellectuals, by hardly addressing the thorny issues and ethical dilemmas that racial and ethnic differences give rise to. Two outstanding authors who have indeed done so are Frank Salter (a political scientist) and J. Philippe Rushton (a psychologist). Interested readers are advised to look for books and articles from said authors discussing topics such as genetic interests or genetic similarity theory.

All of the above is, by the way, valid even for those who subscribe to a creationist world-view, since we are merely discussing evolution within a single species (in this case Homo sapiens), i.e., an example of what creationists prefer to call micro-evolution; a phenomenon in which they are firm believers. In other words, religious fundamentalists cannot escape the race-related issues just by claiming that they are a by-product of ‘atheistic science’, or something along those lines.

Whether we like it or not, observations like these have profound political consequences. While I think we should avoid all kinds of excesses and extreme viewpoints here, and while we should in particular not jump to the conclusion that immigration is always bad, we need to realize that man’s biological nature places certain limits on the number of immigrants that can be absorbed in a certain amount of time by a given society without that society becoming dysfunctional. In other words, a society cannot remain sustainable unless immigration is limited to such a level that successful integration of immigrants can indeed be accomplished.

Several factors influence how difficult it is to integrate different groups of immigrants, but the most important of them seem to be how distantly related they are to the indigenous population in terms of language, culture, religion, and race/ethnicity. The general problems of multiculturalism and Western immigration policies are convincingly and thoroughly discussed by Professor Byron M. Roth in his excellent book The Perils of Diversity.

SS: Why and how was HonestThinking founded?

OJA: It was founded by my brother Jens Tomas Anfindsen (a philosopher) and myself back in 2005. We were both frustrated by what we perceived as a lack of honest public discourse on a number of topics, including ones having to do with feminism, race, ethnicity, culture, Islam, and immigration. Given the reluctance of the mainstream media to allow said topics to be discussed but in the most cursory and superficial way, the two of us decided to establish our own website.

We chose the name HonestThinking (HT) because we felt that perhaps the most fundamental problem of Western societies is its widespread flirtation with dishonest thinking. In particular, as explained in our General Manifesto, we are opposed to philosophical relativism as well as the collection of phenomena loosely referred to as postmodernism. We see these approaches or positions as being self-defeating and incoherent, and therefore ultimately incompatible with democracy and freedom, and thus something every truth-loving and honest person should fight against.

Using HT as our platform, my brother and I have been quite active in the public debate in Norway. Most of the material published by HT is in Norwegian (or the closely related languages Danish or Swedish), but we also publish quite a bit of material in English. The Norwegian/Scandinavian section has thus far been given the highest priority, while the English section to a large degree has functioned as a kind of “reader’s digest”, where we highlight noteworthy quotes and point our readers in the direction of articles of particular interest. However, our own judgments and points of view are usually implicitly, and quite often also explicitly, visible.

In 2007 my brother began working full time for a Norwegian think tank, at which time he had to abandon all his HT work to avoid any potential conflict of interest. Later he and his family moved abroad, so I have since 2007 run HT by myself and on my spare time. Thus, HT is admittedly a fairly humble member of the worldwide family of websites fighting against the prevailing tyranny of political correctness. Even so, I think it has a certain unique flavor that makes it worth visiting, and I hope this interview will cause more people to acquaint themselves with HT.

SS: I understand that an English translation of Selvmordsparadigmet may be published sometime in the future. What is the premise of that book, and what can it contribute to the discussion outside of Scandinavia?

OJA: While certain sections and appendixes in Selvmordsparadigmet (The Suicidal Paradigm) contain material that is primarily of interest to Scandinavian readers, most of the contents of my book is highly relevant to the entire Western world, and actually beyond that as well (countries such as e.g. Japan, China, and South Korea ought to carefully study the grave mistakes that have been made in the West, and take measures to avoid repeating them).

Thus, I am currently making preparations to see if there are publishers who might be interested in an international version of The Suicidal Paradigm, which I would then hope to see translated into English and possibly other languages as well.


My book proves beyond any reasonable doubt that Western politicians, rather than basing their views on a scientific understanding of human nature and human biodiversity, have chosen to build their policies on a foundation consisting of a disgraceful mixture of lies, half-truths, and wishful thinking. The basic thesis of The Suicidal Paradigm is that no country, no nation, no society can indulge in said kinds of dishonesty without destroying its democracy and becoming unsustainable. In other words, my book sets out to convince its readers that the Western world has adopted an intellectual paradigm that will ultimately lead to civilizational suicide.

The Suicidal Paradigm is a science-based book. However, it is written in a language that can be understood by the proverbial man in the street, and it should be of interest to anyone who cares about the big political questions and the future of our children.

The reactions in Norway have been strongly divided; people either love the book, or they hate it. While mainstream media have published a couple of sarcastic and superficial reviews that hardly take the book’s contents serious, or – more often – have simply pretended the book does not exist, a number of individuals have reacted in an overwhelmingly positive way; many of them have expressed their opinions publicly, and even more have contacted me directly. I can confidently state that my book creates a lot of enthusiasm with those who are willing to seriously consider its message.

The Suicidal Paradigm (like several others, e.g. Prof. Roth’s book mentioned above) is meant to be a wake-up call to the Western world. We either have to turn from our utopian and unsustainable ways, and set our house in order, or somebody else is going to do it for us. Both options are going to be painful – the former a lot less so than the latter.

SS: It is often claimed that political correctness has advanced farther in the Scandinavian countries than anywhere else in the world. Do you agree with this claim? How does PC manifest itself here?

OJA: No, I am not convinced that the situation in Scandinavia as a whole is very different from the rest of the West. However, the three Scandinavian countries are quite different as far as PC oppression and lack of freedom of expression is concerned, ranging from critically ill to not bad. Please allow me to comment on each one separately below.

Sweden is now in a terrible state, and the country can hardly be considered a proper democracy any more. The PC censorship is formidable, and there is widespread persecution, sometimes violent, of opponents. While hostile groups of immigrants are turning an increasing number of suburbs into no-go zones, the main concern of the ruling elites apparently is to figure out how to prevent the Swedish people from putting and end to the continued destruction of their country. The situation in Sweden is a disgrace not only to themselves and Scandinavia, but to the entire Western world.

The situation in Norway is a lot better, although there is obviously room for improvement. People with non-PC opinions are few and far between – or largely invisible – among our elites. Even so, the multiculturalists have not yet succeeded in taking away our freedom of expression (and not for lack of trying). Thus, non-PC people that would have been censored or brutally silenced in Sweden are more likely merely to be ridiculed or ignored whenever they manage to voice their opinions in the mass media here in Norway. The Internet seems to be the only place where anything that resembles a truly free and open debate does indeed take place. And, in all fairness, it should be mentioned that our major newspapers allow a fairly free debate to take place at their respective websites. One of them, called Verdidebatt and owned by the Christian daily Vårt Land, even invited me to be a guest writer for two weeks at the time of my book’s publication. Verdidebatt has, by certain intellectuals and political activists, been heavily criticized for this, but its editors have thus far stood their ground affirming their dedication to free speech (and I do indeed continue to publish articles on various topics at this website).

Denmark appears to be among the most free and democratic countries in the Western world and the mainstream media give room for lively debates on many issues related to immigration and integration. It is also interesting to note that Denmark has a number of prominent intellectuals who regularly challenge PC thinking. Alas, most Danish intellectuals, with psychologist Helmuth Nyborg and philosopher Kai Sørlander being notable exceptions, tend to shy away from what are perhaps the most important issues of all in this context, viz. those having to do with racial differences and ethnic identities.

This brings me to another question which I think should be at least briefly mentioned in this context. The immigration-related public debate in the Scandinavian countries – to the degree that there is such a debate at all (see above) – is very much centered on Islam and Muslims, and much less so on the formidable – quite possibly impossible – challenges of integrating into the indigenous population foreigners who, genetically speaking, are quite distantly related to the Scandinavians. Not only is this unfair to Muslims who are made into scapegoats and blamed for all the problems of multiculturalism, one is also automatically granting half a victory to the ruling elites by implicitly agreeing to the latter’s claim that there actually are certain issues (viz. those related to race/ethnicity) where political correctness ought to be considered more important than scientific correctness.

This is not to say that Westerners aren’t facing challenges having to do with our relationship to Islam. We are indeed, and we are going to need frank and honest discourse about all the involved issues. What I am saying is merely that these things must be put into perspective, and that anyone who pretends that Islam is the one and only topic we need to discuss, is doing the Western civilization a great disservice.

SS: Many of the opinions you advance are considered beyond the pale by the establishment. How did you come to hold such iconoclastic views, and how have people reacted to them?

OJA: Whenever people in power try to prevent certain issues from being discussed, there is every reason to be suspicious. Over the years it slowly dawned on me that the propaganda we are all being fed about all races and ethnic groups having the same intellectual and mental capabilities is not much more than a combination of wishful thinking, half-truths and downright lies. As anyone with a basic understanding of science can easily figure out, this beautiful and egalitarian view of humanity just cannot be true. Pretending the world is different from what it actually is, hoping that this will cause the problems to go away, is not only stupid and naïve, but will also ensure that the problems are exacerbated.

After having thought long and hard about the issues and being convinced that the truth is what sets us free, I decided a few years ago that I was no longer going to ignore the elephant in the room, and I was no longer willing to go along with the hypocrisy that is expected of all ‘decent’ people, and so I started to write about racial issues at the HT website, and also voicing my opinions in the media. This has caused quite a bit of heated debate, and I have of course been branded a racist by some. With last year’s publication of The Suicidal Paradigm the whole situation has intensified, but by and large I think people tend to respect a person who sticks to his or her convictions, and refuses to give in to pressures of conformity. I have repeatedly challenged Norwegian scientists and intellectuals to prove me wrong, but the few that have tried have, in my (possibly biased) opinion, failed miserably. Many people are beginning to realize that our current policies are based on an utterly false view of human nature and racial differences, but thus far they hesitate to draw any conclusions from this, let alone speak up about their concerns. Processes like these take time, unfortunately, and as the years go by the West continues its move in the direction of disintegration and demise.

SS: What can be done to keep the West from committing suicide? Do you see any chance of this happening, or is it already too late?

OJA: While I do not see it as inevitable that the West will eventually commit suicide, it does appear to be a quite likely outcome of today’s processes. The currently ongoing destruction of our societies is possible because people either don’t care enough to speak out against our elites, and/or because they actually believe that we are merely going through some ‘adjustments’ on our way to the multicultural paradise. Our political Titanic can only be turned around if sufficient numbers of voters demand a change.

This appears unlikely to happen in the near future, and I suspect that part of the reason has to do with a certain level of decadence that has permeated the Western mindset. Exaggerating somewhat, people care more about wealth, status, and careers than about the future of their own children. As a matter of fact, we are not even producing sufficient numbers of children for there to be any future for us at all. Unless there is a change in attitude here, our societies are doomed, and deservedly so.

I suspect we have a long fight in front of us; a fight that will ultimately be about what Western civilization is, and upon which values it should be built. As we engage in battle with those who hate the West and everything it stands for, as well as those who despise people of European descent, let us not stoop to their corrupt ways and despicable methods. Let us affirm the value of every human being, irrespective of ethnicity, race, or religion (or lack of such). Let us be caring, reasonable, and generous – without becoming utopian, stupid, or naïve. And let us, above all, seek the truth – wherever it may lead.

What Happens When a Nation goes 365Black: One Million People Apply for 50,000 Jobs at McDonald’s


The United States of America has officially adopted the marketing strategy of McDonald’s. We are a 365Black nation.

We are a nation that worries about the effect shutting down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac might have on the 50 percent of its employees who are minority (what about the 50 percent who aren’t?). We are a nation that worries about shutting down government services because Black people receive a disproportionate share of them. 

We are a nation that worries about shutting down government agencies, because Black people are disproportionately employed there (the private sector is finding it increasingly difficult to employ Black people):

Opening up the housing market evolved from anti-discrimination laws to the right to government-supplied decent housing, and if that option was unobtainable, government would subsidize private housing or mandate (and guarantee) below-market home mortgages.  Laws banning racial discrimination in employment were similarly supplanted by government jobs to soak up black unemployment (blacks now comprise one out of every five non-postal federal employees).  Head Start replaced the local babysitter and mandated integration became oversize bureaucracies to assure equal outcomes.  In cities with sizable black populations, e.g., Detroit or Newark, municipal jobs became life-savers.  Washington has also repeatedly extended unemployment benefits, a benefit that disproportionately helps blacks given their higher levels of joblessness. In a nutshell, for many African Americans “civil rights” has come to mean government generosity, a generosity increasingly financed by borrowing. 

McDonald’s coined the term 365Black as part of a new marketing strategy in a bid to appeal to 13 percent of population that is Black. Bragging that 20 percent of their workforce is Black (50 percent is minority or women), McDonald’s represents the goals of what a Black-Run America (BRA) nation would look like. Judging by the demographic of the public workforce, the government mirrors McDonald’s commitment to 365Black.

Named Fortune’s Best Company for Minorities in 2003 and 2004, McDonald’s was once a great first job for high school students trying to learn about responsibility, saving, professionalism, and time management (study to enter college, while working). Now McDonald’s jobs are for those Black people that don’t graduate high school or value any of the aforementioned qualities such a fast food first-job should instill.

Did they apply for a job at McDonald’s?

Instead, McDonald’s is a career for these largely unemployable Black people (hey, the government can’t shoulder all the work in employing Black people). We have asked before why Black people think the future is going to better, when the majority of Black people aren’t qualified to be greeter at Wal-Mart.

You recall last week the violence that occurred at the Cleveland McDonald’s, where a Black person ran over three Black people trying to fill out a job application. Well, Tyler Durden of ZeroHedge.com reports that more than 1 million applications were submitted for the 50,000 part-time jobs McDonald was offering nationwide:

This is what the US economy has been reduced to: McDonalds reports that as part of its employment event to hire 50,000 minimum wage, part-time (mostly) workers, subsequently raised to 62,000 it received a whopping 1 million applications, or a Tim Geithner jealousy inducing 6.2% hit rate (h/t X. Kurt. OSis). Alas, the US economy is now so pathetic that the bulk of the population will settle for anything. Literally anything. And the saddest part: over 938,000 applicants were turned away. Here’s hoping to Burger King needs a few million janitors in the immediate future too. And yes, aside from reality, things in America are really recovering quite nicely.

McDonald’s and its franchisees hired 62,000 people in the U.S. after receiving more than one million applications, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said today in an e-mailed statement. Previously, it said it planned to hire 50,000.

The April 19 national hiring day was the company’s first, said Danya Proud, a McDonald’s spokeswoman. She declined to disclose how many of the jobs were full- versus part-time. McDonald’s employed 400,000 workers worldwide at company-owned stores at the end of 2010, according to a company filing.

Earlier this month, McDonald’s said sales at stores open at least 13 months climbed 2.9 percent in the U.S. after it attracted more diners with items such as beverages and the Chipotle BBQ Bacon Angus burger. The fast-food chain has about 14,000 stores in the U.S. and more than 18,000 abroad. About 80 percent of all McDonald’s stores are franchised.

Knowing McDonald’s commitment to diversity and Black hiring (just consult this PDF), do we even need to guess what percentage of the 62,000 new hires are Black? How about what percentage of the 1 million applicants were Black?

The United States of America is done unless people in positions of power admit the massive problem we have in our midst. Knowing that no such people exist and knowing that attaining positions of power in America means a total commitment to Black-Run America (BRA), it’s time to point out the obvious that can be discerned from this story of 1 million people applying for work at McDonald’s:

Protect yourself and your family over the summer of 2011. 

Rising gas prices means people with fixed incomes (think those 18 percent of Americans who subsist on government entitlements) will have less money to pay for food. Wal-Mart is already saying consumers are running out of money and they have stated inflation is coming.

Consult Web sites like Thugreport.com to keep track of actual crime in your city and notice trends. The media will not report them; you must seek out the truth.

The Philadelphia Experiment: The Streets of Philly Forever Changed

When the population that built and sustained a city is replaced with a different population group – harboring opposing cultural values and norms, plus ability – it’s obvious that that city is in for a rude-awakening.

At a time when DeWayne Wickham writes a column in USA Today chastising Mein Obama for failing to address the Black unemployable rate, news of Philadelphia’s transformation from majority white to a plurality of Black people has been reported.

Did we say unemployable? We meant unemployment. Sorry about that. The Huffington Post reports that the Black unemployable… unemployment, Black unemployment rate is reaching Depression-era levels in some cities.

Discrimination in Black-Run America is only aimed at white people (that’s what diversity really means, replacing white workers with non-white workers), so relying on the trusty old excuse of racism isn’t going to cut it. Not when the EEOC and the Department of (in) Justice are prepared to sue on the behalf of minority employees.

Our hero, Richard Lapchick, just published a report entitled The 2010-11 Associated Press Sports Editors Racial and Gender Report Card, which laments the lack of People of Color (PoC) in sports newsrooms across the country. The key element to understanding “diversity” is contained in the first quote from Lapchick below:
“The worst news was perhaps that the percentage of sports editors who were women or people of color fell 2.3 percentage points from 11.7 percent in 2008 to 9.42 percent in 2010. White males in particular increased by 3.0 percentage points for sports editors.
“But there was good news with gains for women and people of color in the categories of assistant sports editors, columnists and reporters. For columnists, the percentage of women or people of color jumped 5.7 percentage points (from 17.5 percent to 23.2 percent). The increase for assistant sports editors was 2.8 percentage points (from 19.3 percent to 22.1 percent), and for reporters, it was 2.4 percentage points (from 20.8 percent to 23.2 percent).”
That kind of honesty from Lapchick about what “diversity” really means isn’t found at Diversityinc.com. It’s only good news for “diversity” when white people are replaced with PoC. Judging by the state of Detroit and Birmingham, two cities that were once majority white but now are 90 percent Black, replacing white people with Black people and “diversity” wasn’t cause for celebration. Now Philadelphia, a city that once was overwhelmingly white, now has a plurality of Black people:

African descendants have called Philadelphia home for centuries, with the first U.S. Census, in 1790, listing 2,099 “free” blacks and 373 slaves.

Today, the city’s black population is 644,287, according to the latest census, and for the first time it clearly outnumbers all other racial or ethnic groups. (See graphic.)
This evolution happened even though the number of African Americans in the city, excluding Hispanics, declined about 1,800 over the last decade and their share of the population remained about the same.

Key to the new black plurality: the continued steep decline in the city’s white population. In 2000, each group accounted for about 42 percent of city residents, but the white share is now 37 percent, after a loss of 82,000 people.

Meanwhile, an influx of Hispanics, Asians, and other groups – now 21 percent of the city’s 1.5 million people – boosted Philadelphia’s total for the first time in 50 years.
The black plurality coincides with another trend: More and more middle- and working-class African Americans are leaving the city for suburbia. Since 2000, the black population of the city’s Pennsylvania suburbs jumped 26 percent – by 47,000.
“You need to look at it not only from a racial-ethnic point of view, but also the distribution of incomes,” said Mark Mather, senior demographer with the Population Reference Bureau, a nonprofit in Washington that interprets census data.

Are relatively “higher-income blacks moving away from the city, leaving behind a poorer population without a lot of prospects?” he asked. “That wouldn’t bode well.”
Jacquelynn Puriefoy-Brinkley, a former president of Yeadon Borough Council, is a retiree in her 70s. She recalled moving to Yeadon with her parents in 1947, along with other “mostly upper-middle-class” black residents who lived in an enclave on one side of town.

Puriefoy-Brinkley’s father owned several businesses and was a salesman for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Yeadon was about 10 percent black, she said. Over time, a larger cross section of African Americans from the city moved in.

Today Yeadon is 88 percent black. NAACP membership forms are available at the circulation desk of the public library. A shopping strip includes the Mohammad Ali Variety Store across the street from the Harlem Cafe.

Going from virtually all white to virtually all black is certainly no triumph of coexistence, Puriefoy-Brinkley acknowledged, but she feels the pattern of movement has been basically positive.

“Maybe the upside,” she said, “is that people who didn’t have opportunities to live in decent housing or walkable communities have those opportunities now.”

With whites abandoning the city, the school system has become a violent reminder of what an all-Black city looks like. The children of the new Philadelphia will start getting condoms at the age of 11, after a study came out reporting that 25 percent of students were sexually active. Larry Auster reported that The Philadelphia Inquirer was running a story on the horrific conditions of schools in the city, where Black grade school students were engaging behavior similar to that found in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Nothing is shocking anymore:

At Southwark Elementary, a K-8 school in South Philadelphia in October 2010, a 10-year-old boy “body slammed” into his teacher with such force that she suffered a concussion as she fell to the ground.

In June 2009, a Douglass Elementary student issued a startling warning to a second grader at the K-8 school in North Philadelphia whom she was choking: “I know where you live, and I will burn your house down.”

In April 2008, in a third-grade classroom at Taylor Elementary, a K-5 school in Hunting Park, one child held a knife against a classmate’s throat and threatened to cut off his head if he snitched.

At the K-8 Morris Elementary in North Philadelphia in February 2008, an angry 9-year-old punched his pregnant teacher in the stomach.

In December 2007, on the playground at Richmond Elementary, a K-5 school in Port Richmond, a 10-year-old girl’s classmate forced her head down to his groin.

During the 2009-10 school year, an Inquirer analysis shows, eight of the top 10 highest rates for morals crimes in the district were recorded in elementary schools.

More than half of the 177 elementary schools – including K-8 buildings and other early learning schools – reported a morals crime in 2009-10. Ninety percent have dealt with at least one sex crime in the last five years.

The school system is also overwhelmed with young students living amid poverty, violence, and disorder, some of them largely unparented.

Often, the district has failed to heed the warning signs of violence in its youngsters and figure out a systemic plan to address the problem, with dire consequences.

“By the time they get to middle school and high school, [violence] metastasizes like cancer,” said Charles A. Williams 3d, director of the Center for Prevention of School-Aged Violence at Drexel University.

That 72 percent of Black kids in the United States are raised by a single parent (don’t forget the invisible parent, the American taxpayer) shows why the problems found in Philadelphia are widespread (here’s a breakdown of single-parent households for states by race).
Escape from Philadelphia?

This article from 1996 had hope that the Black crime rate would drop in Philadelphia. 15 years later, we know such hopes were misplaced.  Back in 2007, Black people marched together in “The City of Brotherly Love” hoping to end Black-on-Black crime. USA Today reported:

Thousands of black men turned out Sunday to support a volunteer effort aimed at reducing violence in this crime-plagued city, lining up for several blocks to register.
Volunteers who join street patrols as part of the “Call to Action: 10,000 Men, It’s a New Day” campaign will not carry weapons or make arrests but will instead be trained in conflict resolution, organizers said.
“Nobody else is going to magically come into this community and get it done,” said real estate developer Abdur-Rahim Islam, a lead organizer.
Mayor John F. Street, music producer Kenny Gamble and other black community activists joined Police Chief Sylvester Johnson at Temple University for the kickoff rally.
Acknowledging that police alone can’t quell a run of violence, Johnson called for 10,000 volunteers last month to help make the streets safer. Philadelphia endures a reputation as one of America’s deadliest cities, with about a slaying a day and many more non-fatal shootings.
The nation’s sixth-largest city has nearly 1.5 million residents, 44% of them black. It has notched more than 320 homicides this year. More than 80% of the slayings involve handguns, and most involve young black males.
“These (volunteers) can prevent people from being arrested. They can go out there and do things for kids to prevent them from getting in trouble with the criminal justice system,” Johnson said.
Non-blacks were also welcome, but organizers stressed the need for the black community to solve its own problems. Most of the victims of gun violence in the city are black.
This attempt at marching failed too.
The Christian Science Monitor reported that same year:

Nationally, the murder rate for African-Americans is more than three times the average: 19 black murder victims per 100,000 people versus five for the general population.

In Pennsylvania, the disparity for black homicide is even more pronounced: 30 per 100,000, or six times the national average, according to a study released last month by the Violence Policy Center (VPC), a gun-control research group in Washington.
Those numbers are “disproportionate, disturbing, and undeniable,” says the VPC report, which analyzed crime data from 2004 in its study. Moreover, almost 80 percent of black murder victims in the US were shot and killed with guns, the study found.
Philadelphia follows the pattern. The vast majority of black murders in the city – 3 in 4 – are from gunfire, according to police.

Overall, murders have been on the rise – 406 last year. Of those, 317 were gun-related, compared with 233 four years ago. And it’s the city’s black residents and neighborhoods that feel the effects most acutely.

The so-called Black middle-class has fled Detroit and Birmingham, just as they flee Philadelphia. It doesn’t matter, as the Black Undertow will follow them as they settle in Whitopia’s. What they leave behind our empty skyscrapers, boarded up buildings, and unsafe streets, the former monuments to a long-gone people, the latter reasons for their departure.
Why Philadelphia’s Black population hasn’t demanded (like Pittsburgh Black population) that the news stop reporting Black crime is beyond us.
That the violent crime is monopolized by Black people in Philadelphia (and Detroit and Birmingham) is a sign of what any city that becomes majority Black can look forward to entertaining:

There are many Black men in and out of prison that, according to some experts, three generations of related men are sharing the same cell in some cases.

Recently a coalition of African-American men — professionals, community leaders, city officials, clergymen and others — announced the formation of a 10-year plan to address some of the problems facing Black men, especially those related to crime.
Bilal Qayyum, president of the Father’s Day Rally, said that The Agenda would focus on education, economic development and health and criminal justice issues.

“We have 2,400 Black murders between 2000 and 2009. Out of that number, 2,458 are Black males so you get a sense of the size of the problem,” he said. “We have a 48 percent high school drop out rate and 48 percent of Black males are jobless — that is they’re not just unemployed but they’re not even looking for work, not even being counted.”

Another aspect that creates a continuing crisis for Black males is the growing number of high school dropouts — as much as 48 percent don’t graduate.

“Let me give you a snap shot of where we are,” said Mayor Michael Nutter. “In 2010, in the six-year cohort, 54 percent of African-American males graduated from high school. Of the 2010 homicides, 86.9 percent were African-American males. African-American males were 65.5 percent of the admissions into the Philadelphia Prison System in 2010. These statistics demonstrate there is a real crisis among Black males.

If you don’t have an education, if you drop out, you’re already a step behind everyone else. If you drop out from high school your options are already limited and if you’re a Black male and turn to a life of crime, life is already against you.”

Bowen said that for Black males under the gun there is a deep sense of hopelessness and that for anyone in that condition sees life from the perspective of survival by any mean necessary.

Philadelphia, Birmingham, Detroit, and a whole host of other major cities are metropolitan areas that will experience massive riots over the summer of 2011. We’re convinced they start in Atlanta.
USA Today’s Wickham shows that some Black leaders realize Mein Obama has failed to provide a national jobs program for Black people, comparable to a New Deal-style organization. Wickham fails to admit that a disproportionate amount of tax revenue goes to support Black people already, but that’s alright, we’ll forgive for the faux pas.

But what the entire ruling Disingenuous White Liberal (DWL) class, who lord over Black-Run America, has failed to do is admit what “diversity” really means – thanks Mr. Lapchick for providing that service! – and why any law-abiding citizen of this nation should be excited that yet another major US city is now a no-go area.

The streets of Philadelphia aren’t safe for one reason, and we have a feeling Rocky could never be made there today.

Where Have you Gone Thug Report? A Nation Turns its Lonely Eyes to You

Let’s hope it comes back…

If Thugreport.com is gone for good – hacked or taken down – let us remember the site for what it was: an aggregate of criminality from around this decaying nation, a forum where the flotsam and jettison of humanity – denied their rightfully place in newspapers due to an Associated Press (AP) editorial policy of not discussing the race of criminals – had their moment of notoriety.

Unlike a Whitewatch, a site dedicated to locating one strange story every few days from around the globe that delineated a mentally handicapped white person engaging in behavior that would be grounds for execution in a normal society, Thugreport.com was updated hourly with tales of Black crime so macabre you’d think they were made up.

What’s more, Thug Report wasn’t a site dedicated to exposing Black crime: white, Hispanic, and Asian criminals were ventured, but they were overwhelmed by the propensity of criminals to have a Black face.

If the site was hacked, then know that the effort you put into Thugreport.com was worth it; that showcasing the true face of crime (not the Law and Order brand) was an honorable hobby, valuable, and sorely needed.

Gannett-owned newspapers (think USA Today) and the Associated Press have a vested interest in suppressing pictures of criminals, because dark patterns would emerge – in any city – that showed primarily Black faces.

These organizations are complicit in a conspiracy of plausible deniability; they report the crime, but they fail to mention important information of the suspect (such as race) and each death – be it Black, Hispanic, white or Asian – is on their hands.

It gets depressing seeing stories of Black crime under-reported, and ultimately forgotten, only to see stories of purported white misbehavior become fodder for the 24-hours news cycle, text books, and Disingenuous White Liberal (DWL) newspaper columns.

If the site wasn’t hacked, we imagine that Thugreport.com’s valiant owner found the endless parade of Black criminality he encountered on a daily basis to be a depressing reminder that no one event – however galling and shocking – will have the capacity to convince the general public of the horrors of the Black Undertow.

We tire of seeing the procession of Black criminality as well. But denying it’s not there while drowning oneself in shots of American Idol and Dancing with the Star followed by a chaser of Real Housewives of Detroit (mind you, that would be an awesome idea for a show) is what most Americans do.

Though it’s ugly (this story of three Blacks beaten up a delivery guy, or this story of a Black guy punching an autistic person for no reason, violence at African American Family Day at The National Zoo or this street execution), it’s necessary, vital even to never stop.

So let’s hope Thugreport.com makes a comeback, as a nation turns its lonely eyes to you for the true face of crime that many local news stations and dying newspapers conspire to conceal from the public.

We’re reminded of the scene in 2010’s underrated Robin Hood film. Before the movie started, this appeared on the screen:

“In times of tyranny and injustice, when law oppresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history.”

That is what Thugreport represented, an outlaw Web site. Every Web site that espouses views anathema to the ruling ideology of Black Run America (BRA) falls into that category. This is a time of tyranny and injustice, and the law does oppress the people.

And we aren’t talking about “the Blacks.”

According to a large poll in Egypt, 31% support fundamentalist Islam, while only 30% said they are opposed to it. However, 75% said they support the radical Muslim brotherhood. The brotherhood was largely behind the upheaval in Egypt that Obama and Hillary are supporting.

62% of Egyptians want Sharia law!

Even among the 30% who said they oppose fundamentalist Islam, 47% still said they want Sharia law.

Strong desire to annul treaty with Israel.

54% of Egyptians want to annul its treaty with Israel. This is something that only CofCC.org has been telling you. One of the major grievances that the Egyptian rioters had with their government was the long standing treaty with Israel. The “mainstream” media has not been reporting this. Once again CofCC.org was months ahead of the mainstream media on this issue.

Only 36% of Egyptians want to continue treaty with Israel.

Egyptians don’t like United States.

80% of Egyptians have an unfavorable view of the United States.

64% of Egyptians said they don’t like Obama, even though Obama supported the recent revolution. Obama is almost as unpopular as former president Mubarak.

The former regime in Egypt aggressively fought Jihadists. They even warned the Bush administration that Al-Qaeda was planning a quadruple hijacking in the US. (Which the administration appears to have completely ignored.)

The next regime could be an outright sponsor of Jihad.

Europe has reached its boiling point. Massive third world immigration has overwhelmed southern and western Europe with crime, welfare dependency, constant race riots, Islamic terrorism, and the rapid deterioration of large metropolitan areas.

France and Italy are preparing to defy EU mandates and slam their borders shut.

France has been defying EU rules already by diverting illegal aliens to Italy. Then Italy retaliated by “legally” putting Tunisians on trains for France. The French blocked the trains again with riot police, even though Italy had the right to do so under EU immigration rules, since the illegal aliens had been given temporary visas.

France now says they will openly suspend the EU’s open border policy and block all illegal aliens. Italy is suspected to follow suit.

The EU’s open border policy, known as the Schengen Agreement, is intended to allow EU citizens to move from country to country. However it makes it incredibly easy for illegal aliens to flood Europe.

For the past several years, the Tucson Unified School District has spent millions of dollars on its “Mexican-American Studies” studies curriculum. These programs are designed to teach Mexican students in the district that America is an evil, racist empire and that the American Southwest is really Aztlan—the ancestral home of the Aztecs that rightfully belongs to Mexico. The classes were so racist that one of the teachers in the program, John Ward, wrote in 2008 that “the basic theme of the curriculum was that Mexican-Americans were and continue to be victims of a racist American society driven by the interests of middle and upper-class whites.” The classes, many of which are taught by unlicensed teachers, also preached revolution against the U.S. and praised Che Guevara and other Latino revolutionaries.

In response to this disgrace, the Arizona House of Representatives passed HB 2281 in May. The bill, which was signed into law by Gov. Jan Brewer, prohibits any public school in the state from teaching classes that “promote the overthrow of the U.S. Government,” “promote resentment toward a race or class of people,” or “advocate for ethnic solidarity instead of the treatment of pupils as individuals.” A group of TUSD teachers sued the state to block the law, and it’s currently in the courts.

On April 26, 2011, the TUSD board of governors was scheduled to have a public meeting about the Raza Studies program and how to design it in accordance with HB 2281. The meeting had to be canceled, however, after dozens of Raza Studies students stormed the meeting room, chained themselves to the board members’ chairs, chanted pro-Mexican slogans and pounded tables. This is not just an impulsive action by a handful of misinformed teenagers, but the natural consequence of the Raza Studies program itself. Students are taught that American institutions of government are racist, that the state of Arizona is illegally occupied by “gringo invaders”, that violence is the only effective means of political action, and that the tactics of Marxist revolutionaries like Guevara are to be idolized. Is it any wonder that they act like this?

Thomas Jefferson understood that an educated populace was crucial to the survival of our Republic, and was one of the first Americans to propose widespread public education. In 1785, he wisely argued that grammar school curriculum should consist primarily of “the most useful facts from Grecian, Roman, European, and American history.” Why? Because Greek, Roman and European cultures formed the basis of both our government and our national identity. And, though it is now impolitic to admit, those cultures collectively represent the pinnacles of human thought and accomplishment.

In the same years that Europeans were inventing the printing press, developing the heliocentric model of the universe, painting the Sistine Chapel and designing cathedrals, the Aztecs were sacrificing 250,000 people a year and cannibalizing their remains. The myth of equality between these cultures that the Raza Studies program promulgates is a dangerous lie with dire consequences for our country.

The media keeps perpetrating the myth that “most serial killers are white.” This mantra is meant to offset the glaring fact that black people are 9 times more likely to commit murder than white people in general.

Remember black people only account for 13% of the US population but commit 59% of all felony murders and non-felony manslaughters in the country between 1976-2005.

Rise of the Black Serial Killer…

Americans have had a curious fascination with serial killers, since the days Jack the Ripper prowled the streets of London. Their stories have been told in countless books, portrayed in the cinema and told as spooky campfire stories to wide-eyed youths. As did the tales of vampires and ghouls in the middle ages, serial killers have haunted our dreams and kept us looking over our shoulder hoping we’re not one of their next victims.

Most people are familiar with how the story goes. Intelligent middle class white loner, abused as a youth, a bed-wetter until puberty with a morbid fascination of torturing animals as a teen, snaps and begins killing people as an adult. The names and stories of Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Robert Lee Yates and dozens of others fit this description and seem make this idea credible. Turn on the television or read a fiction book about serial killers and this is the idea portrayed, in nearly every instance, serial killers are always white. But is this always correct? The answer is resoundingly, no!

In 2002 a scene in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas played out over a three week period, as the Beltway Sniper kept the nation on it’s toes. In initial reports, authorities were on the lookout for a white male in his mid-thirties, possibly driving a white mini-van. FBI profilers and sketch artists told the masses what this white killer possibly looked like, and what behavior this individual exhibited. Area citizens were on the lookout for anyone fitting this description, as dozens that fit were interviewed. The nation did a double take once the captured killer, with gun in hand turned out to be a Black Muslim that went by the name John Allen Muhammad.

Soon following every black commentator that could be found was on the news media, showing their dismay at the thought of a black killer. Articles written at the time by black psychologists and commentators are telling of the mindset of most Americans, about the general perception of blacks being serial killers.

Race, Class, and Affirmative Action

Last week, I travelled to Providence College in Rhode Island, where I attempted to trick unsuspecting undergrads into believing that cognitive racial differences are real—and thus affirmative-action and “diversity” programs are bootless and destructive—by making crude appeals to… science.  At least, that’s what the foul-smelling “anti-fascists” with hoops through their noses claimed as they tried to disrupt my talk.

My trip was sponsored by the Providence College Republicans, in conjunction with Youth For Western Civilization. (YWC’s Tim Dionisopoulos, who organized the event, has a helpful recap here; as you can tell by Tim’s intelligent explication of my arguments, he’s no ordinary undergrad.)

The screenshot of me smiling and waving before a banner that read “Hate Not Welcome” pretty much sums up the antifas’ epic failure:

  • They weren’t able to shut us down. Indeed, they slinked off after I made it clear that I didn’t take them seriously and would not cease my presentation.
  • More important, on the video, they themselves appear like “fascist” stereotypes. Image is (almost) everything, and the image of last week’s event is of sloppily dressed thugs screaming obscenities at a calm, civil gathering of students.

I doubt that the One People’s Project, which instigated the protest, will be bragging about a great blow struck for social justice any time soon.

Interestingly, the portion of my talk that prompted the ruffians’ leader to doff his jacket, Clark Kent-style, and reveal his antifa T-shirt, came when I displayed the following chart.


Apparently, talking about this graph makes me a racist and a classist. (Just ask Little Green Footballs.)

Let’s look at what I was actually arguing.

To the surprise of no one, a student’s SAT score is positively correlated with his parents’ income. Liberals usually say that this is due to the fact that rich people can afford private tutors and test-taking aids. And there’s no doubt that this has an effect. But the linear correlation is so unambiguous, and so uniform among the races, that one can only conclude that a) intelligence in heritable and b) wealthier families are simply smarter than poorer families.

But this is actually besides the point I was trying to make in the lecture. With regard to affirmative action and “diversity,” the most striking element of the chart is that Whites with family incomes below $10,000 a year (those likely to be on food stamps and living in mobile housing) have significantly higher SAT scores than Blacks that come from families with incomes over 70 grand (most likely resulting from cushy federal employment and work as diversity counsellors in law firms.) I wasn’t interested in dwelling on the IQ-and-class correlation; my point instead was to highlight the necessity of strictly race-based admissions if universities are to create their desired universal, multicultural society on college campuses.

Left-liberals have developed all sorts of justifications for AA, including their claim that they seek to overcome the university’s own inveterate “institutional racism,” as well as the notion that all will benefit by exposure to “diversity.” Those who are willing to admit that AA is directed mostly at African-American and acts as some kind of historical redress, will say that race-based admissions aren’t really about race per se but about a class structure still defined by slavery and Jim Crow.

This is false. AA is all about race. As the above graph demonstrates, if the Left actually pursued strictly class-based admissions, this would be a great boon for poor White Americans. To choose a stereotypical example, a Southern hillbilly, whose parents were out of work, and who could score a respectable Math and Verbal combined score of 1250, would have a good shot of going to Harvard.

In turn, instituting class-based affirmative action would be absolutely devastating to the Black middle and upper-middle class, whose expected set-asides in the Ivy League would vanish.

The point is, of course, that Harvard will not pursue class-based affirmative action because Harvard does not want to bring poor Whites to Harvard. God-fearing, Southern, Protestant White men are not part of the universal society that Harvard, and most every other university, is attempting to fashion.

I don’t support class-based AA, for the reason that I don’t think most people should go to college: for the average guy, it’s a far better idea to learn a trade than get saddled with student loan debt and ideological conditioning.

That said, it’s interesting that I get labeled a “classist” for suggesting ways of improving the lot of poor White folks.

In recent days, a video has been circulating online depicting the savage beating of a customer at a Baltimore McDonald’s by two teenaged African-American females. Richard linked to it in one of his recent posts. Here it is again. The victim of the beating appears to be a Caucasian female. After repeatedly taking some rather brutal blows, the victim is shown apparently going into a seizure. Loose hair that had apparently been torn from her head (or wig) is shown on the floor near the victim. The employees of the McDonald’s in question apparently stood by and did nothing to assist the victim. The only effort at intervention was made by an elderly white female customer. The incident was filmed by a McDonald’s employee by the name of Vernon Hackett whom we are told has subsequently been dismissed from his position.

It has since been revealed that the victim was a 22-year-old transgender woman by the name of Chrissy Lee Polis. (For those unfamiliar with PC terminology, a “transgender woman” is roughly defined as a former “he” turned “she” in terms of self-identification though not necessarily surgical alteration.) It also turns out that Chrissy Lee Polis is an epileptic, which likely explains the onset of a seizure during the attack. The probable motivation for the attack was the two perpetrators having taken offense to the fact that Polis was attempting to use the women’s restroom. For a time, the video was being circulated in some white nationalist circles as a chilling example of a brutal crime being inflicted on a white person by ghetto blacks (which it clearly was). Upon the revelation of the victim’s proclaimed “gender identity,” some in the white nationalist milieu indicated their inclination to withdraw or scale back their sympathy. But clearly this was a horrific and despicable crime, regardless of the racial or sexual identities of either the victim or the perpetrator. Predictably, gay rights and “sexual minority” organizations have demanded that this incident be investigated and prosecuted as a hate crime.

Of course, what is interesting about this case is not merely that a violent crime occurred. Murders, assaults, robberies, and rapes are routine daily occurrences. Nor do the racial or sexual identities of either the victim or the perpetrators make this crime particularly unique. The fact that the crime occurred at a McDonald’s is no big news either. Someone was shot to death at a McDonald’s a few blocks from my residence some years ago. If Chrissy Lee Polis had been just another “normal” white person, this case would be getting scarcely any attention at all. There might be a few posts on various paleoconservative, white nationalist or alternative right websites about the hypocrisy of a mainstream media that turns hate crimes against racial or sexual minorities into front page news and national scandals whose memory lingers for years (the Matthew Shepard case, for instance) but ignores comparable crimes committed by minorities against whites (for example, how many Americans have ever even heard of the Wichita Massacre?). But that would be about it.

If she had not been a sexual minority, the victimization of Chrissy Lee Polis would not likely be receiving the attention of the Huffington Post, Daily Kos, San Francisco Chronicle, and other representatives of leftist opinion. Nor would she be receiving the attention of London’s Daily Mail, the Australian, the India Times, or other outlets of the international press. It is unlikely that she would be getting the recognition of even neocon mouthpieces like Lucianne.Com. Even the “movement conservative” press generally had little to say about the events in Wichita at the time of their occurrence. Nor would her attackers be facing the prospect of having hate crimes charges brought against them. In fact, the crime would likely be just another among countless routine criminal assaults reported to local police departments, though if Chrissy Lee Polis’ attackers had been skinheads or stereotypical “white trash” types rather than equally stereotypical “ghetto” types it is likely her case would be receiving much more attention than it currently is.

What we have here is an example of the “clash of victimologies” that is likely to become more evident as political correctness becomes ever more institutionally entrenched and as the realities of demographic transformation become ever more difficult to ignore. If indeed the two girls who perpetrated this are prosecuted for a hate crime against a transgendered woman, tensions between the organized African-American lobby and the organized “LGBT” lobby are bound to escalate. It is the standard political line of Sharpton-esque race hustlers and demagogues that virtually every black criminal, no matter how obvious the offender’s guilt or how malicious the offender’s actions, is somehow a victim of racism, social injustice, white privilege, this, that, or the other thing. The most obvious and celebrated case of this type was the elevation of O.J. Simpson, a wealthy celebrity with a lengthy history of severe domestic violence who became a cold-blooded double murderer, into an ostensible civil rights martyr, as though he were some poor black kid railroaded for a petty burglary by racist cops and unable to afford a competent defense attorney.

It will be interesting to observe to what degree the self-appointed spokesmen for African-Americans call for solidarity with the two teenaged hooliganettes, make excuses for them, attempt to absolve them of responsibility for their actions, or attribute their legal status to racism. Perhaps they will try to make the issue go away by simply ignoring it. However the high priests of the civil rights industry respond to this situation, this incident is bound to raise doubts in the minds of many “LGBT” people about who their political friends actually are. After all, a transgendered woman who attempted to wander into the women’s restroom in a McDonald’s located in some stuffy white bread suburb might get some funny looks, maybe some teasing. At worst, some shocked little old lady or concerned soccer mom might summon a couple of patrol cops who in their bewilderment would go about their usual routine of asking for ID, running a name check, issuing a warning, and cracking jokes as they drove off in the squad car. No doubt the recipient of such treatment would consider herself harassed and embarrassed, but it hardly compares with being a victim of aggravated assault bordering on attempted murder. No doubt many from the “LGBT” community might begin to recognize that “victim” status does not necessarily translate into “tolerance,” and subsequently start to wonder if replacing the traditional European-American majority with Third World immigrants would be in their best interests, given that the majority of immigrants originate from countries where “sexual minorities” are not exactly honored.

This incident has created an interesting dilemma for the Left. Which class of official victim groups are they going to side with on this one? The Battle of McDonald’s provides an illustration of why, I believe, the Left as it is presently constituted will fail in the long run, whatever its present level of institutional influence and however much it may be able to endure for a few more decades. The Left will eventually self-destruct because its core tenets are self-contradictory and cannot be sustained in real world social practice. The Left’s core constituent groups: racial minorities, immigrants, the LGBT community, feminists, “secular humanists,” the black and Hispanic underclass, wealthy Jews, etc. have interests that are ultimately incompatible with one another. As the Left becomes more powerful in the short run, as the realities imposed by mass immigration become more apparent, and the tensions between the official victim groups begin to surface to an ever greater extent, the coalition of the officially oppressed will begin to self-cannibalize. Each interest group within the victimology paradigm will begin to battle each other for the “More Oppressed Than Thou” championship title. This will be the death blow for PC. It’s only a matter of time.

The Harmless “Anarchism” of Bill Kauffman

The other day, I emailed Richard an article by Bill Kauffman praising the “reverse migration” of Blacks to the South in general, and author Ernest Gaines’s return to Louisiana in particular. Richard asked me to write a short blog on it. As I began, I found it difficult to concisely express my thoughts without saying something more substantial about Kauffman, whose worldview (or, as I’m sure he’d like to call it, “local-view”) is popular among a number of libertarians and traditionalist conservatives, particularly the “Front Porch Republic” types.

For those of us tired of the traditional Left/Right paradigm in American politics, one has to appreciate Kauffman’s attempt at a new political historiography of sorts. He champions localism, populism, and anti-imperialism over corporate capitalism, empire, and political centralization.

In this vein, he proudly rejects the neoconservatives, cosmopolitan libertarians, and the Fox News crowd, while embracing Agrarians, decentralist libertarians, and a number of figures identified with the Left such as William Jennings Bryan and Gore Vidal (who wrote the forward to his excellent book, America First.)

I’d imagine that Kauffman would happily admit that he has a Romantic and sentimental view of America that animates his commentary much more than any sort of thorough political analysis. With enthusiastic prose, he will make historical figures and contemporary political and cultural figures he champions come alive.

This can make interesting reading, but at times, it can become downright campy.  In his book Ain’t My America, he describes his political beliefs as such:

I belong to no political camp: my politics are localist, decentralist, Jeffersonian. I am an American rebel, a Main Street bohemian, a rural Christian pacifist. I have strong libertarian and traditionalist conservative streaks. I am in many ways an anarchist, though a front-porch anarchist, a chestnut-tree anarchist, a girls-softball-coach anarchist. My politics are a kind of mixture of Dorothy Day and Henry David Thoreau, though with an upstate New York twist. I voted for Nader in 2004 and Buchanan in 2000: the peace candidates. I often vote Libertarian and Green. I am a freeborn American with the blood of Crazy Horse, Zora Neale Hurston, and Jack Kerouac flowing in my veins.

You get the idea.

Kauffman’s definition of a conservative becomes quite expansive when he tries to include left-wing icons such as George McGovern.

What makes McGovern conservative?  In addition to McGovern’s obvious antiwar views, Kauffman praised McGovern for not dismissing Wallace Voters:

“It is not prejudice to fear for your family’s safety or to resent tax inequities. . . . It is time to recognize this and to stop labeling people ‘racist’ or ‘militant,’ to stop putting people in different camps, to stop inciting one American against another,” said McGovern, who called the Wallace vote “an angry cry from the guts of ordinary Americans against a system which doesn’t seem to give a damn about what is really bothering people in this country today.”

This is no different than the typical What’s the Matter with Kansas liberalism, or for that matter, Obama’s Philadelphia speech on race, where he said that working-class Whites opposed to immigration and affirmative action were not evil, but were merely misplacing their anger against the evil White capitalists.

A few years ago, I saw Kauffman speak at the Cato Institute about Ain’t My America. My memory is a little hazy and I cannot recreate his style, but I distinctly remember him opening up explaining what wasn’t his America: Fox News and the New York Times etc.  Then he listed what was his America: he started with a number of small town and cultural pieces like “Casey at the Bat” and finished with “Straight Outta Compton.”

For those not aware, Straight Outtta Compton was the debut album of the band Niggaz With Attitude. Steve Sailer aptly called it the soundtrack to the LA Riots,

From the gang called Niggaz With Attitudes
When I’m called off, I got a sawed off
Squeeze the trigger and bodies are hauled off

NWA’s most famous song off the album is  “Fuck the Police,” which includes lines like

Just cuz I’m from the CPT, punk police are afraid of me
A young nigga on a warpath
And when I’m finished, it’s gonna be a bloodbath
Of cops, dyin in LA

Not exactly “Casey at the Bat.”

At the time, I thought he was being tongue and cheek, but the more I’ve reflected on Kauffman, I’ve become less and less sure.

ComeHomeAmericaKauffman recently edited a volume with a hokey URL title, ComeHomeAmerica.US,  which promotes America’s anti-imperialist tradition and a new Left-Right alliance based on “alarm” at “runaway militarism.”  I had very little interest in reading this tome, but an ad for it frequently appeared on The American Conservative’s website, featuring illustrations of this wonderful coalition.

Who does it include?  Predictably, Mark Twain and conservative anti-imperialists Ron Paul and Robert Taft are there, along with America First Progressives Smedley Butler and Robert La Follette.  I can roll my eyes at the inclusion of socialist Eugene Debs and pacifist feminists Jane Adams and Jeannette Rankin. But I can only laugh at seeing Joan Baez and Martin Luther King!

While she may have covered “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” Baez’s political career has been hardly one of “localism.” After she realized the Communists she had earlier championed were not peace-loving hippies, Baez has spent the last 35 years of her life advocating “international human rights”

As for King, one does not need to support Southern Segregation to view him as the antithesis of everything Kauffman purports to champion. King left the South to align himself with cosmopolitan northern Communists and socialists and pressure the federal government to undermine self-government in his “ancestral region.”

King’s antiwar views were not in the mode of Robert Taft, or even Eugene Debs; he was a vicious anti-American sympathetic to the Communists.  He wrongly argued that Blacks were being disproportionately killed in Vietnam, and considered the war to be engineered by the same “racists” in the American government who promoted his career.

Kauffman’s championing of anti-White icons brings us to the short blog post I was supposed to write.

In a recent American Conservative piece “Southern Comfort,” Kauffman tries to create a tradition of decentralist, anti-imperialist, Black agrarians by bringing up the legacy of Zora Neale Hurston. A genuinely interesting figure, Hurston was brought out of obscurity by Black Communist Alice Walker. However, as Kauffman notes, she was a Bob Taft supporter who hated FDR and Truman. What Kauffman fails to note is that she opposed the Brown vs. Board of Education decision (and not just on States Rights grounds) and worked for segregationist George Smathers.

But the real object of his praise is Ernest J. Gaines, one of the many Black novelists of modest talent that have been given MacArthur and National Book Awards.

According to Kauffman,

Despite years in San Francisco exile, Gaines has placed all his fiction in rural Louisiana, never venturing even as far as New Orleans. “I picked my own back yard—and there’s nothing wrong with that,” he says. “After all, Yoknapatawpha County was good enough for Faulkner,” with whose volumes Gaines’s masterwork, A Lesson Before Dying, deserves kinship.

“My folks have lived in the same place for over a hundred years in Pointe Coupee Parish in South Central Louisiana. I can’t imagine writing about any other place,” Ernest Gaines says. “Everything comes back to Louisiana.”

So, Gaines has recently moved back to his hometown and is involved in helping the local community. Good for him. But the word “exile” is a misnomer.  Gaines, of course, chose to live in one of the most cosmopolitan liberal (read: White) cities in the world, whose small Black population has been diminishing for years.

In high school, I was forced to read Gaines’s A Lesson Before Dying. The near sole focus of the book was the fact that Whites in the South were racist.  I confess, I was not eager to seek out any of his other work, but in my diligent research, I went to Wikipedia and read the summaries of his other books. Sure enough, every single one of them is about White racism.

Kauffman sees Gaines as part of a great trend: “The grandchildren of the Southern diaspora are going home: American blacks are returning to their ancestral region.” (No not that “ancestral region.”)

From this article, one imagines he’s speaking of Blacks upset with city life in search of localism. I’m thinking of a politically correct version of the now banned Virginia State Song,  “Carry Me Back to Ole Virginny”

Carry me back to old Virginny.
There’s where the cotton and corn and taters grow.
There’s where the birds warble sweet in the spring-time.
There’s where this old darkey’s heart am long’d to go.
There’s where I labored so hard for old Massa,
Day after day in the field of yellow corn;
No place on earth do I love more sincerely
Than old Virginny, the state where I was born.

We all know it is not dreams of rural community that brings the “Southern Diaspora” back to Dixie.  Rather, thank to efforts of Martin Luther King and his successors, much of the South now looks like Detroit.

The elimination of Virginia’s State Song brings up another point that Kaufmann and his “front porch” followers refuse to address. The biggest threats to localism, of both the political and cultural variety, is immigration and multiculturalism.

Virtually every increase in “civil rights” has been done at the expense of local school districts and voting boards. As Robert Putnam reluctantly noted, racial diversity is the most destructive force against community cohesion. And as most all of America before 1950 would be considered “racist” by today’s standards, eliminating every monument and other cultural institution held by said “racists” is the inevitable conclusion of failing to stand up to anti-White cultural hegemony.

Kauffman has made a few references to immigration restriction, but I cannot see a single mention in the last several years. A self-described Bill Kauffman libertarian once told me, “I’d rather eat at an authentic Mexican restaurant in the barrio than at a Taco Bell or Chipotle.”

And rather than stand against, Kauffman simply tries to imagine anti-White writers like Ernest Gaines as “agrarians” and activists like Martin Luther King as “anti-imperialists.”

I, too, would love to return to a decentralizized and non-interventionist American Republic. But this ideal will never be reached if we do not completely stand up to the Left and the onslaught of multiculturalism and anti-White racism.

I invite Bill Kauffman and his followers to join the fight.

The rumors are true: this afternoon, Ron Paul will announce that he’s running for president.

I think most AltRight readers would agree that Ron Paul and his platform are hardly The Answer to our problems . . . Moreover, for his 2008 run, Paul hired a bumbling, tone-deaf, and strategically inept staff, and there’s no reason to believe that they learned anything from their mistakes. (Paul would be wise to simply allow his talented and energetic grassroots to do everything for his campaign: ads, macro-strategy, fundraising (which they did last time anyway), and even the writing of talking points for debates and such. His hired staff will be busy enough getting him on the primary ballots.)

All this being said, Ron Paul’s candidacy is a good thing. And though I can’t endorse him in my institutional capacities, as an individual, I will be rooting him on over the next year or so.

Here’s why.

Put frankly, Paul is one of the few political “representatives” who’s not a lying sociopath. Paul means what he says and says what he means. Most Republicans simply talk about their devotion to limited government. If president, Paul would actually attempt to bring the troops home, abolish non-Constitutional departments, and return to the gold standard. Paul also appears to buck the unfortunate libertarian consensus on open immigration.

Paul is a true liberal, in the older sense of the word. He’s what Wilmot Robertson called an “Old Believer” . . . in an Old America that hasn’t existed for at least a century. Paul sincerely wants to leave the citizenry well enough alone, trusting in the goodness of their intentions and their willingness to cooperate. On this and other matters, it’s hard to separate Paul’s great virtues and personal charm from his blind spots and naiveté.

More important, unlike every other candidate—though Trump is a wildcard—Ron Paul actually threatens what I’ll call, for brevity’s sake, “the Establishment.”

Though there’s no room to go into this here, suffice it to say, the egalitarian welfare state, unending foreign wars, bailouts and endless credit for the financial sector—and much else—is predicated on the Federal Reserve System. Without the Fed, what the government is currently doing would be significantly more difficult; to do it all simultaneous and on such a grandiose scale, would simply be impossible.

Paul’s central issue is “End the Fed.” This quest is, of course, quixotic—I think it’s more likely that the current system will implode than it will be rationally reformed. Nevertheless, the Establishment does not want thinking minds to contemplate the source of its power.

Whatever his limitations might be, a Paul presidency would truly amount to a Revolution.

While watching the video of efforts by left-wing thugs to disrupt Richard Spencer’s recent talk on affirmative action at Providence College, I was reminded of a conversation I had sometime in the late 1980s with a former member of the 1960s radical group Students for a Democratic Society who had been involved with the movement to oppose the Vietnam War since its inception circa 1962. He recalled how in the early days of the antiwar movement, protest organizers were thrilled if they could get fifty people to show up for a rally. To publicly oppose the war at the time was physically dangerous, and such rallies were always at risk of being physically attacked by vigilantes shouting epithets like “communist” at the protestors. If organizers of the rallies could get police protection at all, they were happy to have it. Not only were public demonstrations in danger of such assaults, but so were quiet and peaceful meetings of those who opposed the war held in church basements or on university campuses. Of course, we all know that the anti-Vietnam War movement morphed into a mass movement just a few years later.

So it is indeed ironic that half a century later it is those who challenge the established dogmas purveyed by the Left who similarly experience the disruption of their efforts to peacefully speak and organize, who become the targets of epithets like “racist,” “sexist,” or “classist,” and who are threatened with physical violence. Incidents of this type are exceedingly common. It is now widely known that conservative speakers on university campuses, even entirely mainstream neocon-friendly “movement conservative” types, are routinely shouted down and threatened by leftists. As most readers are probably aware, right-wing organizations outside the mainstream, such as American Renaissance, have endured even worse attacks. At times, simply attending an anti-illegal immigration rally can be all that it takes for one to become the victim of a physical assault.

A number of observations could be made concerning the demeanor and behavior of the disrupters of Richard’s presentation at Providence. One is the obvious fact that they are so certain of their own moral superiority and the nobility of their crusade that they feel ordinary rules of civilized discourse or common courtesy no longer apply to them. Another is that far from their image of themselves as enlightened, free-thinking rebels, they come across more like brainwashed zombies similar to members of the LaRouche cult or the Moonies I used to encounter selling flowers on the streets of Washington, D.C. years ago. Their level of intellectual prowess seems to amount to little more than thinking that merely throwing labels at people and ideas they find disagreeable counts as a valid refutation of the opposing viewpoints.

Judging from the hysteria of their reaction, one would think that Richard was advocating genocide rather than arguing for the fairly standard right-of –center position that affirmative action is a bad idea, a position that even some minority scholars and analysts hold. It is also rather difficult to see how Richard was arguing for “white supremacy” given that the data he was presenting actually showed Asians to be the top performers with regards to SAT scores. As Richard pointed out in his talk, it was he who was the moderate and the protestors who were the extremist nutjobs.

For the diversitarians, affirmative action is not merely a policy preference, but a sacred article of faith, like the Holy Trinity or the Immaculate Conception. Affirmative action is a political tool the liberal establishment utilizes to maintain the loyalty of one of its core allies and constituent groups, the black elite and the middle class professional sectors of the black population. Affirmative action is an entitlement used as a reward for political loyalty from these sectors. It is doubtful that AA is of much benefit to genuinely impoverished or disadvantaged blacks, many of whom do not even finish high school, much less attend college or obtain professional-level occupations. And as Richard pointed out, if the goal of AA was to help the poor and disadvantaged in the first place, AA would be class-based rather than race-based.

Indeed, “black conservatives” like Thomas Sowell and Elizabeth Wright have documented a myriad of ways in which policies implemented by the welfare state and civil rights bureaucracy that has meta-morphed in recent decades have severely undermined the organic economic, cultural, and family life of urban black communities, and contributed exponentially to the social pathologies often found in those communities. Likewise, the black libertarian economist Walter Williams has produced rather extensive evidence indicating the contribution of efforts at intrusive economic micromanagement to high unemployment rates among urban blacks.

Additionally, there is some evidence that black children who are educated in culturally specific Afro-centric schools perform much better than black children who receive conventional public schooling. The reasons as to why this is so are inconclusive but what is interesting is that the efforts of either conservative and libertarian black scholars like Sowell, Wright, or Williams, or of Afro-centrists with a nationalist or separatist outlook, are routinely attacked or dismissed by white liberals and the captains of the civil rights industry alike. Indeed, such people are often reviled by the Left. The obvious reason for this is the fanatical egalitarian-universalist ideology that has come to dominate the Left, an ideology that just happens to coincide with the political and economic self-interest of those who push it. It is an ideology that seeks a society where all resources are controlled and managed by the state and administered according to a spoils system the ostensible purpose of which is the imposition of bureaucratically-managed “equality.” The ultimate outcome of totalitarian humanism taken to its logical conclusion would be a totalitarian state organized as a kind of caste system whereby individual rights are assigned on the basis of group identity and group rights are assigned on the basis of the position of the group in the pantheon of the oppressed or on the victimological family tree.

Given these considerations, it might be apt to compare our present day lefto-fascist, stormtroopers-on-granola with the Red Guards of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. The Red Guards were, of course, bands of youthful vigilantes who scurried about China during the 1960s smashing up cultural artifacts deemed “old” (e.g. conservative, traditional) and engaging in vigilante violence against persons deemed “reactionary” (mostly dissident intellectuals and those labeled “bourgeois” or originating from politically incorrect cultural or class backgrounds.) We see a similar though milder version of this today in the West today with attacks on expressions of traditional culture (like Christmas celebrations), historical artifacts considered to be reactionary (like Confederate Civil War monuments or streets named after Confederate generals), and vigilante actions against people given labels like “racist,” “fascist,” “sexist,” or “classist.”

I suspect that these “antifa” types, these Red Guards-on-tofu, would be every bit as murderous and destructive if the authorities would sanction it, as Chairman Mao did during the Cultural Revolution. We’ve seen hints at this already with the nonchalant attitude of the authorities towards threats of murder and arson against innocent people made by the Antifa in response to American Renaissance’s planned gathering in 2010. Plenty of other incidents have occurred where destructive or violent behavior by those claiming to act in the name of noble causes like “anti-racism” and “anti-fascism” have been overlooked or dealt with leniently by authorities convinced of the purity of their motives or restrained by political pressure.

The great irony presented by the Antifa is that despite all of their posturing as radicals and revolutionaries, they’re essentially doing the establishment’s bidding. The attitudes they subscribe to are not fundamentally different from those of the liberal elite overlords of the wider society. The Red Guards-on-tofu are simply a smellier, more ill-mannered, undisciplined, more in-a-hurry version of the liberal establishment itself. Wouldn’t it be an even greater irony if indeed the growing counterculture of the alternative right were to grow into a large influential movement as the leftist counterculture and antiwar movements did in the 1960s, with the Antifa and their ilk assuming the role of the “hardhats”?

John Carney:

With a subtle wave of his baton, the aspiring Maestro may have started the music for another round of Federal Reserve monetary easing.

Ben Bernanke, chairman of the US central bank and keeper of the keys to stock market money flows, oversaw a tweaking of wording in the Fed’s post-meeting statement that had trading floors buzzing.

The statement, which preceded the chairman’s first-ever news conference following a Fed Open Markets Committee meeting, simply stated that the group will “ regularly review the size and composition of its securities holdings in light of incoming information and is prepared to adjust those holdings as needed to best foster maximum employment and price stability.”

The change in wording was subtle, but for the market it was shorthand (or perhaps longhand, considering the chairman’s traditionally opaque language) that another round of quantitative easing—QE3 in market parlance—was on the way.

There just isn’t enough damn inflation!
