A Time for Attention

Date

.I found on the Drudge Report yesterday a cell-phone video of yet another attack against whites by feral blacks in the cities, in this case Baltimore, where in a McDonald’s two black females kicked a white girl into convulsions, presumably due to brain damage. It seems there was a dispute over precedence for the rest room.

You can see the video here, at the site of the American Renaissance. AmRen is regarded as racist, and is, but consists mostly of articles from legitimate newspapers. It doesn’t make up its facts. The comments at the bottom are interesting in that they represent the response to the beating by a large part of the American population. Most don’t post such thoughts where the thought police can find them. They think them, and express them to friends.

Things are bad out in the world, with blacks openly furious at whites and a whole lot of whites quietly so in return. It isn’t a recipe for domestic tranquility. A price will be paid.

Two things stand out about the video. First, cell phones with video cameras built into them are changing the landscape of journalism. All teenagers and most adults now carry video cameras, the difference being that the teenagers know how to use them.

This is not unimportant. Note that such siege howitzers of the media as the BBC frequently run shaky, wobbly, low-res footage of such things as Syrian police beating people, or of citizens dying of bloody head wounds. These can be embarrassing enough to affect policy, and make it harder for repressive governments to control the press. It is now a crime in parts of the US to photograph a policeman; here, as in Syria, governments move to hide the behavior of their “security forces.” This is why China censors the internet, and Washington very much wants to. When the Egyptian public erupted, the government immediately shut down the net. It is interesting that Obama wants an “internet kill switch.”

The other salient point of the beating in Baltimore is that the Drudge Report, a huge, huge, huge site, posted the video under a banner headline almost as huge. I don’t know Matt Drudge, and so can’t speak to his motives, but he had to know that posting video of godawful beating of a white girl by blacks is Something One Doesn’t Do.

Various voices ask, Was it racial? Of course it was. You don’t beat someone into convulsing brain-damaged semi-consciousness over precedence in a line for the bathroom. Ravening homicidal hatred is needed. Welcome to the ghetto.

This sort of thing is not uncommon. In a previous life as a police reporter I encountered or knew of many instances, always of a gang of blacks beating hell out of a white, and in a manner to do serious damage. The maidens in the video wanted to hurt the girl, wanted to hur her badly, and continued kicking her dangerously when they had her helpless. It is one thing to punch someone’s lights out, another to kick him repeatedly in the head.

Always the media respond by describing the attackers as “teenagers” and “youths,” and by burying the story as quickly as possible. When I was writing my Police Beat column for the Washington Times, any mention of racial hatred disappeared during editing.

Ignoring the hatred is not going to serve anyone well, black or white. In the Cook County Jail in Chicago, I once interviewed a Three Star Perfect Elite, if my memory of the title serves, a high-ranking man in the BGD, Black Gangster Disciples. These were and probably are a serious gang. Why, I asked him, do black gang-bangers spend so much time killing other blacks?
“we’d rather kill whites, but we know we’d lose,” he said, stone cold. This disappeared in editing.

This is not remotely the sentiment of blacks in general, but of the decaying, jobless, culturally isolated slums. If if it boils over, which is entirely possible, nobody is going to like it. More accurately perhaps, a few blacks and whites would very much like it, but it would be hideous to decent people. You don’t solve a problem by hiding its existence.

Why do the media hide the attacks? I suspect that underlying the circumspection is a half-aware realization that if whites really knew what was happening, some might respond in kind, in which case God help the nation. Having no better idea what to do—I don’t either—journalists figure to keep the lid on and hope the problem goes away, which it won’t. The whole business smells of trouble.
Further, journalism is a rigorously conformist profession. You know what you have to say you believe. You say it. Joe Sobran once defined public opinion as “what everybody thinks everybody else thinks.” Exactly.

And the press corps in Washington lives in a hothouse, insulated from the rest of the country, for most of which they have contempt. They pride themselves on racial correctness yet, in a city the majority of which is black, they have only a few black friends unresembling those of the urban badlands of Northeast, and you never see them in restaurants and clubs where most patrons are black. Many seem to want to protect blacks from criticism. They don’t report reality because they don’t see it. What does this accomplish?

Thus if you point out that black schools in the cities are terrible, an assertion with which every black columnist in the US would agree, many journalists will furiously argue that it isn’t true—not quite calling you a racist, but very nearly. And so nothing changes.

Stray thought: What would you think of an oncologist who insisted that your tumor didn’t exist?

I wonder how wise this wanton inattention probably isn’t. The United States has a grave racial problem that isn’t getting better. The problem is not the black middle class, which is about like any other, but the dangerously angry underclass of the graveyard cities—Newark, Detroit, DC, Chicago, Trenton, Dade, Richmond, Atlanta, on and on. I’ve spent many nights in such places. It’s ugly. And it’s explosive. Depending on your politics, you can blame blacks, whites, God, terrorists, or sunspots, none of which changes anything.

Psychology trumps politics. We can do the liberals-vs-conservatives dance, call each other racists, howl and yowl and pose and prance. What fun. But a spring is being wound. The economy declines, auguring cuts in social subsidies and perilous unrest. Los Angeles burned. It can burn again. The hatred is still there. If there is a solution to the racial disaster, we had better find it.

A Brief History of the United States

From Beginning to End

March 21, 2011

In 1492 Columbus rediscovered America, and the settlers, destructively exploiting its vast resources, achieved a success which they attributed to their own near-miraculous virtues, some of which they actually had: courage, rude vigor, industry, and an independent spirit. Shortly after, they emerged from WWII unscathed due to the military genius embodied in two oceans while competitors—Europe, Russia, China, and Japan—lay prostrate. America’s intact military and an economy up and running allowed the establishment of a fairly benign empire and an astonishing commercial dominance, both being attributed to near-miraculous virtues and regarded as permanent.

They didn’t see it coming.

Japan revived and began producing something it called a Toyota while Detroit, sure of its market, manufactured lousy cars that arrived falling apart, final assembly by owner. Germany revived. Communism still protected America from China, and no one foresaw that this would change. Airbus Industries appeared, but no one believed that it could compete with American know-how and engineering. It did. One by one American manufacturers of airliners took shelter in the military market until only Boeing was left, more or less equal to Airbus. But Americans knew that Europe was socialist and had no work ethic.

Before long Japan had completely devoured the market for consumer electronics, cameras, and suchlike. Ship-building went, except for builders catering to the captive military market. The steel industry left for foreign shores. Few noticed. Americans knew that their prosperity sprang from their near-miraculous virtues, which foreigners could never achieve.

Eventually China gave up on communism and became 1.3 billion smart, hard-working people who saw nothing wrong with the idea of becoming the world’s dominant power. Brazil began making airliners and American airlines began buying them. Even India showed signs of life. Americans didn’t worry because they knew that these funny countries couldn’t compete with America’s democratic values.

Manufacturing jobs began flowing to Asia, first a trickle and then a torrent. Americans didn’t pay attention, not knowing exactly where Asia was. Anyway, those foreigners were comic little people with squinty eyes and ate with sticks. Who could take them seriously? Then design work and programming began emigrating eastward. American had invented the internet and now would pay the price. Intellectual capital had broken free from physical capital. Oops.

American industry largely ceased to exist, or at least ceased to be American. The big companies became free-floating international entities, adventitiously putting down roots wherever taxes were low and labor cheap, which wasn’t America. An HP laptop now consisted of a CPU from Intel but made perhaps in Ireland, the motherboard, hard drive, power supply and case made in Taiwan, RAM and screen from Samsung, assembled in Taiwan or China, but the label said HP, so it was American.

The trade balance went sour, and then very sour. The country had long since become captive to consumerism both national and individual, “He who dies with the most toys wins” being a bumper-sticker anthem. At every level America began living on credit, but America’s credit was good, which American’s attributed to near-miraculous virtues which they no longer had, if they had ever had them.

As the economy invisibly declined, the military’s budget grew and grew. The country could no longer afford it, but the Pentagon was so deeply embedded in the economy and Congress that the country couldn’t stop affording it. The five-sided money hole spent on, an aging kept woman with no obvious purpose since, with the fall of the Soviet Union, America had no military enemies.

Consequences sometimes arrive tardily. After WWII, Zionists had conquered Palestine and begun mistreating its people in the manner of white South Africans at their worst. Moslems, of whom it later turned out there were quite a few, came to hate Zionists and, by extension, all Jews. Since America supplied the bombs that Israel used to kill Moslems, these came to hate the US. Thus 9/11. This was used as a pretext for war by hawkish wimps, now called Neocons. The conflicts were  embraced by the Pentagon, which needed a raison d’etre in the face of the lack of enemies. The ensuing wars were enthusiastically supported by evangelicals, more Zionists, confused patriots, imperialists, military industry, and those who just wanted to kill some Arabs, any Arabs. President W. Bush with his eternal martial priapism and yokel grasp was just the man. The military budget now was about a trillion a year in a country that owed more money than it could ever repay.

Many things had changed since the arrival of Columbus and smallpox. Americans still imagined themselves as Marlboro Man, rugged individualists, though many had never actually seen a live horse. In fact the country had become a society of mass conformist consumerism with its tastes designed at corporate. America was still a land of opportunity, if you were an Ivy techy with an IQ in excess of 180, but everybody else was pretty much screwed. Most people lived in velvet serfdom, afraid of the boss and imprisoned by the retirement system. Few young males could any longer meet the physical requirements for induction. The Army softened training so they could appear to get through. So much for Davy Crockett.

Americans had become the Frightened People, afraid of terror, of Moslems, of an outside world they couldn’t find or, in many cases, spell. The government used this bounty from heaven to justify rapid elimination of civil liberties, telling the public that it was to protect them. They still prided themselves on their democracy, without any longer having one, and on being a light to the world, which hated them. “The whole world hates us. What is wrong with the whole world?” they asked, deeply puzzled.

The looters came. In the past there had been an element of noblesse oblige, of concern for the nation, a sense among the upper classes that they ought to pay some slight attention to keeping the country alive while picking its bones.  This changed. The country was now ruled by the tightly interlocking directorates of Wall Street, Congress, the upper reaches of the executive branch, and the big corporations, none of whose members had ever worked a night shift at Walmart while living in a rented trailer. The worst and brightest went to Harvard and then into i-banking. Thus the sub-prime adventure. This catastrophe was regarded as a cyclical correction instead of as the first notes of the knell.

By this time the country was acquiring the attributes of the Third World. Impunity: financiers did not go to jail for financial crimes, nor generals for war crimes, nor congressmen for anything. National incapacity: The government handled natural disasters with the adroitness one might expect of Burundi. Intractable slums festered in the cores of its great cities. Over its age America had achieved greatly, done much that was admirable and much that wasn’t, and now, overreaching, still convinced of its miraculous virtues, was perilously close to falling on its face.

Let’s Invade Mexico!

Let’s take poison. Let’s ride a motorcycle blind-folded, and other bright ideas.

November 26, 2010

.

Almost forever, the record for stupidity was held by Lumbo, a Cambrian trilobyte born to an early family of retarded trilobites. Lumbo also had Down’s Syndrome. It ws an unbeatable combination.  Nobody and nothing was as slow as Lumbo. It was thought that he would hold the record for all time, but then came the governor of Texas, Rick Perry. He thinks it might be a good idea to invade Mexico.

Lumbo doesn’t come close.

The governor thinks, barely, that such a martial lunge might help rid Mexico of drugs, or do something about immigration. He thinks it should perhaps be done with the permission of the Mexican government. It is my hope that Washington will not adopt the governor’s idea, but, given America’s penchant for lurching into catastriphic wars, perhaps we should examine the notion for advisability.

The governor’s wise plan begins by embodying the mistake the Pentagon always makes when it sets out to lose a war, which seems to be every time it holds a war. He, and it, begin by having no faint grasp of the people to be invaded, or of people at all.

Soldiers have difficulty with the notion of people, of citizens, of populations, who are mere impediments to the proper management of a swell war. The military longs for mechanized battle in which men in machines destroy other men in other machines, tank against tank, fighter plane against fighter plane, in a spirit of simple-minded adolescentt romanticism. You know,  battle-scarred tanks growling across the Algerian desert, against a flaming red sunset burning out to night, desert wind blowing scarves of heroic etc. People don’t figure in this dream, which is why the results are so regularly dismal.

Now, some practical considerations, a kind traditionally of little interest to military men:

You don’t just sort of invade Mexico as an abstraction. You have to invade an actual part of it. Which?

Well, you could try the cities thick with narcos: Tijuana, Juarez, Culiacan, Ciudad Victoria, all the gang. Good idea, that. As any intelligent officer will tell you—one was reported in Anhalt-Zerbst in 1654, but this was never confirmed—fighting in cities is not a lot of fun. The narcos have AKs and RPGs. They are expert at urban ambushes. They know the cities. They speak the language. They can fade into the population. Consequently frustrated Gis, quickly coming to view the population as subhuman, will begin killing people at random and…have we seen this before?

As an equally unwise plan, the good governor might advocate sending troops after the narcos in the wild, in the Sierra Madre Occidental, up around Copper Canyon, the Barranca del Cobre. Have you seen the barranca country? I have, on the Chihuahua Pacific railway from Los Mochis to Chihuahua. It is like Afghanistan, but with difficult terrain and tree cover. Roads are few. There are canyons in which you could drop the Grand Canyon and have trouble finding it the next day. Did I mention AKs and RPGs? Trees? Rocks? Things to hide behind?

Sefl-explanatory. I hope.

What the Pentaloons don’t understand, being armed Boy Scouts who believe their own propaganda—“Ooo-rah! Yes sir! Yes sir! Can do, sir!” is that they usually can’t. The chief reason is that people really, really do not like American soldiers invading their countries, wrecking cities and killing their children. The military, which thinks at right angles, cannot wrap its mind around this difficult thought. Thus Americans invariably begin by thinking, “We are right. We are for democracy. We are trying to help these people. Therefore they will love us.”

The second step to disaster is to set up a puppet government, by purchase or intimidation, declare it an ally, and assert that America is helping the legitimate government of a beloved fellow nation. Think Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and note that the Governor Perry says he wants to invade “with Mexico’s permission,” which means puppetizing the government. Of course no government that supports invaders who kill Pablo’s three-year-old and her dog is going to enjoy a whole lot of legitimacy.

The approach doesn’t work, this being regarded as a minor defect by military minds. It’s the glory of the thing, the swoosh and bang and zowwee that count, not practical concerns like winning. But…does it seem salient to you that in all of our hobbyist wars, our locals—our Khmers, our Viets, our Afghans, and so on—fight poorly, while our enemies are passionate and stubborn? Note that after ten years our Afghan soldiers aren’t ready and disappear with their rifles, the Pakis collaborate with the Taliban and hate us, and the Iraqi police are permanently incapable.

Why might this be? Because, when you force part of a country to kill the other part, not too much enthusiasm ensues.

An essential  ingredient in our wars is underestimation of the enemy, reflecting a general American contempt for everybody else. Cheese-eating surrender monkeys, that sort of thing. The Viet Cong were rice-propelled paddy maggots who didn’t have a single B-52. Iraq would be a cake walk, the Afghans were louse-ridden towel-headed farmers, and so on.

An infantryman’s paradise, or gateway thereunto.

Phredphoto

Still, it is perhaps worth noting that as the US army lowers recruiting standards to reflect flabby American males, the Mexicans work construction. In the barranca country you find hard and hardy people, Tarahumaras and tough farmers who have trucks now thanks to the marijuana crop. Soft they are not. Mexicans have fought long and bloody wars—the Revolution, the Cristero War, the current drug wars in which 29,000 have died since 2006 in armed conflict (which suggests that there are a whole lot of them and not afraid to fight, doesn’t it?). Sound like Afghans?

Further: Mexicans, all Mexicans, are violently hostile to any invasion, on any terms at all, by the US. They’ve been down that trail before. I mentioned the governor’s idea to my (Mexican) wife. I’ve never seen her face so hard. This is universal. If you want to see a united Mexico, send the Gis.

The Mexicans are not as reliably hostile to the traffic in drugs, or to the traffickers, as Washington would like. The common attitude is that if the gringos don’t want drugs, why do they buy them? Why is it Mexico’s problem? The traffic has brought relative prosperity to places formerly without electricity. In a country not enamored of a corrupt government, the narcos not infrequently are seen as Robin Hoods. Various bands make a living singing narcocorridos, songs glorifying the traffoclers: Los Tigres del Norte, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, La Sombra Norteña.

Here we come to the final error of American military interventions: the belief that everybody wants to be like America, that they want democracy or are capable of it, that we just have to show them how we want them to live and they will gratefully do it. Ah, fond hope. We are going to make Afghanistan into a democracy, an idea as probable as making a frog into a television set. In Afghanistan the military invaded Marjuh and said it was going to impose a “government in a box,” whereupon an Afghan town would be just like a village in Iowa. Oh sure. Any day now. And in Mexico the Mérida Initiative is going to  produce honest police and judges, whereupon Mexico will resemble Switzerland.

Oh god. Lumbo is back. Some good advice to the Joint Chiefs: Stay the hell out.

Each moment that passes brings us inevitably closer to the collapse of Black-Run America

President Mein Obama visits Memphis: Will he propose the Michael Oher Act?

http://stuffblackpeopledontlike.blogspot.com/

We have long been a proponent of instituting the Michael Oher Act (MOA) across the nation. Actually, we here at SBPDL originated the idea for the MOA and believe that it is the only action left that could bridge the racial chasm in learning that continues to widen.

Memphis is a failed (Black) city
Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy plucked Michael Oher from the mean streets of Memphis. The current Baltimore Ravens left tackle, the object of uncontrolled admiration by white conservatives across the nation, would never have escaped Memphis were it not for his adoption by white people from the white suburbs.
That his birth mother abandoned him and a brood of 11 other children for a life of drug addiction drugs is an afterthought in the movie The Blind Side; that a loving white family took him into their home and gave him countless hours of tutoring so that he could attend college (where he received countless more hours of tutoring) is the real story.
Memphis is a Black city long ago abandoned by white people. Crime, decadence, murder, rape, and schools that under-perform are the reality that is Memphis. Even Black people of means are abandoning Memphis for the suburbs:
Crime already had grown scary enough in their Raleigh neighborhood, so when drug dealers brazenly opened shop down the street, Thelmon and Barbara Butler got in their car and went for a drive.
They headed east, scouting subdivisions with rustic-sounding names and mazelike cul-de-sacs for a new place to live.
“We drove from street to street,” said Thelmon Butler, 57, pastor of a church in Southeast Shelby County. “We went everywhere.”
They ended up in a three-bedroom brick home off Macon and Houston Levee, on a street that at the time had only one other African-American household.
Now, six years later, the Butlers are among dozens of black families in the Cordova Ridge planned development. They’re representative of a major demographic trend documented in census data released last month.
Although “white flight” was the Memphis area’s dominant population pattern in the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s, the first decade of the 21st century witnessed a wave of “black flight” that made many suburban areas more diverse than many older parts of the city, including Midtown.
An analysis of statistics from the Census Bureau’s latest American Community Survey data shows that in 66 suburban census tracts in Shelby County, the estimated number of black residents has increased 56 percent, from 83,019 in 2000 to 129,443 in 2010.
African-Americans now account for fully one-third of all residents in the tracts, up from less than one-quarter a decade ago.
Though few will admit it, the sad, simple truth is that crime will inevitably follow these Black refugees from decaying Memphis to their new environs as surely as night follows day. The Atlantic noticed this in its cover-story published a few short years ago:

On September 27, 2007, a headline in The Commercial Appeal, the city’s biggest newspaper, announced a dubious honor: “Memphis Leads U.S. in Violent Crime.” Local precincts had been seeing their internal numbers for homicide, rape, aggravated assault, and robbery tick up since the late 1990s, starting around the time Barnes saw the first dead car. By 2005, a criminologist closely tracking those numbers was describing the pattern as a crime explosion. In May of 2007, a woman from upscale Chickasaw Gardens was raped by two men, at gunpoint; the assailants had followed her and her son home one afternoon. Outraged residents formed Citizens Against Crime and lobbied the statehouse for tougher gun laws. “People are concerned for their lives, frankly,” said one county commissioner, summarizing the city’s mood. This March, a man murdered six people, including two young children, in a house a few miles south of Old Allen Station.

Falling crime rates have been one of the great American success stories of the past 15 years. New York and Los Angeles, once the twin capitals of violent crime, have calmed down significantly, as have most other big cities. Criminologists still debate why: the crack war petered out, new policing tactics worked, the economy improved for a long spell. Whatever the alchemy, crime in New York, for instance, is now so low that local prison guards are worried about unemployment.

Lately, though, a new and unexpected pattern has emerged, taking criminologists by surprise. While crime rates in large cities stayed flat, homicide rates in many midsize cities (with populations of between 500,000 and 1 million) began increasing, sometimes by as much as 20percent a year. In 2006, the Police Executive Research Forum, a national police group surveying cities from coast to coast, concluded in a report called “A Gathering Storm” that this might represent “the front end … of an epidemic of violence not seen for years.” The leaders of the group, which is made up of police chiefs and sheriffs, theorized about what might be spurring the latest crime wave: the spread of gangs, the masses of offenders coming out of prison, methamphetamines. But mostly they puzzled over the bleak new landscape. According to FBI data, America’s most dangerous spots are now places where Martin Scorsese would never think of staging a shoot-out—Florence, South Carolina; Charlotte-Mecklenburg, North Carolina; Kansas City, Missouri; Reading, Pennsylvania; Orlando, Florida; Memphis, Tennessee.

The salient point to take away upon digesting this article is that crime is sure to increase wherever Black people go. Conversely, wherever Black people are, crime is sure to be. And horrible schools. Perhaps it is fate that today President Mein Obama will address the Black denizens of Memphis by speaking to the graduating seniors of Booker T. Washington High School (where 98 percent of students get their lunches free):

President Obama will deliver the commencement address at Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, the White House announced Tuesday.

The school edged out hundreds of applicants in the Race to the Top Commencement Competition, an annual contest aligned with the president’s education initiative that rewards schools for “promoting college and career readiness.” The graduation ceremony is May 16, according to the White House.

“Booker T. Washington High School proves what can be accomplished when students, teachers, parents and administrators come together to support achievement in the classroom, and I’m looking forward to delivering the commencement address at this extraordinary school soon,” Mr. Obama said in a statement.

According to the White House, the school’s graduation rate rose to 81.6 percent in 2010 from 55 percent three years earlier. Along the way, the school added separate “academies” for male and female freshmen as well as A.P. classes.

Virtually all of Booker T. Washington’s students are African-American, and 98 percent are eligible for free or reduced lunch, said Quintin Taylor, the spokesman for Memphis City Schools. When the city razed the nearby Cleaborn Homes housing project last month, citing crime and blight, 20 percent of the students lost their homes and were scattered around the city. That fact is highlighted in a video submitted by the school for the competition.

“The community that they’re in, there’s poverty and there’s crime. It’s an inner-city American neighborhood,” Mr. Taylor said. ”Despite the circumstances and surroundings, they have been able to achieve at a high level.”

How in the world did this school system raise its graduation rate from 55 percent to 81.6 percent? How about with a $90 million donation from The Gates Foundation and a significant share of the $501 million over four years from the federal government?:
Wilson, with a GPA of 4.8, graduates about 18 months after the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awarded the city schools $90 million for improving teacher effectiveness and just more than a year after Tennessee won $501 million over four years in the federal Race to the Top competition.
“BTW is easily the poster child for reform efforts that take a few years to get firmly rooted and then bear fruit,” said John Barker, head of research and evaluation for Memphis City Schools.
Among the reform efforts: improving the quality of who gets hired to teach and be principals in MCS, and then placing those people where they can do the most good.
The system has also been casting a wider net for new teachers, doubling the number of Teach for America positions and hiring earlier in the season to increase the chances of getting the most talented prospects.
It is offering incentives to faculty and staff at schools that meet graduation, test score and teacher-retention goals.
In high priority schools such as BTW, principals can get $4,000 per year for meeting recruitment and retention goals, plus payoffs for student achievement.
Principal Alisha Kiner received $5,750 in bonuses this year for gains Wilson says helped her.
The biggest benefit was “the chance to take Advanced Placement courses.”
“They really do boost your academics up. … It really does make a difference,” Wilson said.
Students that pass the five-point final exam with a 3 or more typically get college credit.
Three years ago, BTW had one AP class. Today it has three, and Wilson took them all.
Since 2008, when Supt. Kriner Cash arrived, MCS has added 60 AP sections, beefing up offerings in schools such as BTW and Hamilton High where there had been few if any AP choices.
Let’s be honest.  In a year, we’ll learn that much of what was touted as academic progress in Memphis was largely grade inflation and fraud, just like what happened in Atlanta’s and Washington D.C.’s school system. Newsweek did a big story just two weeks ago (Back to School for Billionaires) that showed all of the money invested by people like Bill Gates and other billionaires had done absolutely nothing to improve test scores.
Only cheating – like that done in Atlanta and Washington D.C – can show improvements that no amount of money or nurturing can hope to see overcome the menacing reality of nature.
Memphis is no different. It’s good to see Booker T. Washington High School get AP classes, but we know that Black students perform poorly on AP exams when compared to their white, Asian or Hispanic counterparts. In many parts of the country, talks are underway to remove these classes.
Here you can find an article that delineates the troubling failure rate of Tennessee students on AP exams and the high cost to the city of Memphis for fielding an AP classes.
Worse, these programs cost money, and Memphis City Schools is insolvent (despite that cash infusion from the Gates Foundation and Race to the Top Program). Recently voting to dissolve their own school district in order to force a merger with the predominately white Shelby County School Districts (white people having long ago fled Memphis to the areas surrounding the city so their children could be educated around only white students), those in charge of the Memphis City Schools system admit to being an abject failure and a lesson of what happens when Black people take over (just like Birmingham, Baltimore, DC and Atlanta).
Tensions in Memphis are hot right now over this decision, because white people who work for Federal Express, International Paper and other Fortune 500 companies based in Memphis pay good money to live far away from the rot that is Black Memphis. Insulating their families in suburban white cities is no longer enough to keep the Black Undertow at bay.
Memphis is a Black city. It is a failing city. No, that’s not true. It is a failed city.
Yet President Obama’s visit to Booker T. Washington today will be regarded as a fairy tale moment for the city’s Black inhabitants, as this article makes clear:
In explaining why Booker T. Washington High School won the Race To The Top challenge to earn its commencement speech Monday from President Barack Obama, the White House cited statistics of various school achievements.
But anyone who watched the videos submitted by finalists could see elements in BTW’s entry that numbers cannot measure — passion, motivation and, quite clearly, an enthusiasm for Obama.
When Obama comes to Memphis, the moment will take on a meaning even larger than that usually associated with a presidential visit.
The nation’s first black president will be visiting, for the first time since his 2008 election, one of the most important cities for African-American culture, achievement and history — and engaging a high school with its own historic and symbolic significance for the city.
Rev. Noel Hutchinson is the big, wryly funny pastor of First Baptist Church-Lauderdale, which sits catty-corner from the high school and where, photos indicate, some of BTW’s first graduations were held. His job is to help people see, as his church bulletin for today puts it, “what God can do.”
But this week’s “marvelous reality” is such that, Hutchinson says, it “boggles the mind.”
“As the first black president, he symbolically represents all the hopes and dreams many of us as a people have for ourselves,” Hutchinson said. “He embodies great success and the great symbolism of one who came up through many challenges to become the president of the United States. And now he is coming to a neighborhood in one of the poorest  ZIP codes in Memphis that in recent years has been been consistently overlooked.
“That in and of itself will do great things to shape self esteem for generations to come.”
To understand Obama’s popularity in neighborhoods like BTW’s, consider the voting in the 2008 election contest with Arizona Sen. John McCain. There were 1,077 votes cast for president at the nearest precinct, Georgia Avenue Elementary — all but four for Obama.
In all, there were 15 precincts in the city of Memphis where Obama received 99 percent or more of the votes, and 115 precincts that gave him at least 90 percent of the vote. And while the city in general and black voters in particular traditionally vote for Democratic candidates, the support for Obama was of another order of magnitude — he carried Shelby County by 110,412 votes, or about 52,000 more than Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry’s margin here in 2004.
“He is coming into a community that is proud of his achievements and appreciative of his hard work,” Hutchinson said.
U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen said polling of Memphis voters has shown one unerring consistency — Obama receives 90-plus percent approval ratings among African-American voters.
“He’s an iconic figure in American history and an iconic figure in the African-American community,” said Cohen, who often refers to the Obama family as the “Kennedys” of the 21st century. “His popularity is unsurpassed.”
In Shelby County, 42 percent of Black people are on EBT Food stamps compared to 6 percent of whites. The area President Obama will visit has an average annual income of less than $11,000, one of the highest crime rates in the nation, and most of the citizens rely on federal assistance for housing.
Oh, and don’t forget what we already mentioned: 98 percent of students at Booker T. Washington get free lunches.

Memphis City Schools have failed, capitulated in hopes of merging with the white school system of Shelby County. The school system has a $100 million gap it must close.

But Mein Obama rushes to Memphis for a photo op with Black students who rely on donations from billionaires and tax payer money to subsist.. The Disingenuous White Liberals (DWLs) in the media will probably cry over this wonderful moment, and African spirituals will be belted out by Black people in choir robes and every Black person whose name is called to receive a diploma will have their extended family yell loudly in appreciation for this historic moment.

But Those Who Can See will know the truth. Each moment that passes brings us inevitably closer to the collapse of Black-Run America (BRA), an eventuality that will play itself out regardless of what you do.

“If we don’t act now, there might not be much of an America left to defend,” said the Secretary of Defense in Independence Day, after the alien invaders destroyed more American cities..

Those Who Can See don’t have to act, nor will alien invaders have to destroy major American cities. It’s becoming increasingly clear that Detroit, Batimore, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis and dozens if not hundreds of other cities have been destroyed by a population that still supports Mein Obama with 90 percent approval ratings.

Oddly, the male population of that same voting group is nearly 50 percent unemployed.

It’s going to be a long summer.

So enjoy the photo op in Memphis, Mein Obama. We’re sure you’ll give an outstanding speech that MSNBC, CNN and other news outlets will declare magnificent, moving and ground-breaking.

But Those Who Can See know the truth. Those Who Can See look upon Memphis and realize its morose state is just a reflection of nature. The Tuohys invested millions – even forsook their own kids – to help Michael Oher succeed and ultimately play for a sub-par Ole Miss football team (or, as we might more aptly call the school that so easily gave up many of its traditions, the University of Northern Mississippi football team).

It’s our hope President Obama devoted some of his speech to mentioning The Michael Oher Act, the one piece of legislation left that could improve the conditions of future Black communities. If not, his speech will have been in vain.

Spies Like Us? The Intelligence Gathering Community is about to get Mandated Diversity

Spies (NOT) Like Us? Your government wants more Black people in the Intelligence Agencies

Recently, NASA gave a huge amount of money to Morgan State University, an HBCU in Baltimore that has an honors program requirement of a 24 or more on an ACT or a 1100 on an SAT. Oh, and a 3.0 in high school. NASA has long desired finding Black engineers for reasons that only a working knowledge of Black-Run America (BRA) can help explain:

Morgan State University will receive a landmark $28.5 million portion of a massive $95.8-million, five-year grant from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The grant, which allows the East Baltimore school to conduct research supporting NASA’s Earth and space science projects, is the largest in Morgan’s 144-year history.

School President Dr. David Wilson, who announced plans to double grants and research at Morgan in 10 years during his inaugural speech, celebrated the grant and its potential impact on students.

“Morgan is committed to its graduates being strong, not just in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields but also in critical thinking and global awareness and that is exactly what this grant will do,” said Wilson in a statement. “I am convinced that through this partnership our students will be provided with even richer experiences and many more opportunities, for example, to do internships at NASA. On the other hand, NASA benefits from having access to a more diverse body of talent from which to recruit in the future.”

It was Morgan’s commitment to STEM disciplines that prompted USRA to select the school for its elite research team. Morgan boasts doctoral programs in bioenvironmental sciences, the state-of-the-art Richard N. Dixon Center for Science Research and the Center for the Built Environment and Infrastructure Studies, which is currently being built.

Baltimore officials reacted to news of Morgan’s historic grant, including Maryland state Sen. Joan Carter Conway, who lauded NASA’s partnership with the school. “I am elated to hear that Morgan was selected for this partnership with USRA and NASA,” said Conway in a press release. “This really affirms the University’s stature in the higher education community as one of the nation’s leaders in producing African-American scientists and engineers.”

Remember that the military desires diversity within the Naval Academy and US Coast Guard, and has lowered requirements for Black applicants to achieve this desired result. Already plans are underway and millions of dollars are being spent to entice Black people to try-out for the nearly all-white Navy SEALs.

Now, your elected officials find the Intelligence community to be a bastion of whiteness that can only be replaced with mandates requiring an immediate cessation of hiring white people and, in their place, the immediate hiring of Black people and other non-whites:

On Thursday, Republicans allowed Democrats to offer two amendments that would mandate pilot programs and studies to facilitate diversity within the intelligence agencies.  I don’t begrudge the GOP leaders for running an open process and allowing Democrats to offer amendments.  The problem is that they adopted the amendments by voice vote, instead of voting them down.  Well, if the timeworn bromide that “Republicans only control one-half of one-third of government” is sufficient justification for failure to pass prudent legislation, it should certainly justify their scuttling of multicultural amendments.

Here are the two amendments:

H.AMDT. 289 John Barrow (D-GA): An amendment numbered 2 printed in House Report 112-75 to task the Director of National Intelligence with creating a pilot grant program for Historically Black Colleges and Universities to assist in creating and maintaining academic curricula that teach advanced critical foreign languages, and for study abroad programs. Amendment aims to help intelligence community meet strategic, diversity and critical language goals.

Waters #19 (D-CA): This amendment would require a report from the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community on the extent to which racial and ethnic minorities in the United States are employed by the intelligence community. The report would also have to address barriers to the recruitment and retention of additional racial and ethnic minorities in intelligence community positions. This report would be required within 180 days of enactment. The amendment text can be viewed here. (Source: RSC summary)

This is not an earth shattering issue because the amendments don’t (yet) place consequential mandates or racial quotas on our intelligence organizations.  However, they might invite further criticism of diversity problems, augmenting the pressure to impose quotas.  What happens if the report reveals a dearth of group A or color B within the NSA?

Also, a diversity study in itself, a desideratum of the left, is an anathema to our belief in equal opportunity over equal results.  Do we need to gratuitously approve liberal social engineering endeavors while we are in control of the House?  Do we really want to open the door for racial quotas in such critical fields as intelligence and national security?  Is this the time to give liberals fodder to advocate that we dumb down our most important government agencies?  Are we going to agree to study the lack of diversity among the SEAL teams as well?

Obviously, we must be judicious in picking fights with leadership.  This certainly isn’t one of them.  However, regrettably, it shows us that when we see baneful legislation coming up for a vote, we cannot necessarily count on leadership to vote it down.  A similar thing occurred earlier this year when a number of Republicans approved an Obamacare program under a suspension vote on a ‘non-controversial’ Democrat amendment.  Nobody was disquieted by the scheduling of such a vote because it was presumed that the Republican majority would easily defeat it.

We must continue to focus our attention and shed light on every aspect of the legislative process; committee markups, committee and leadership position appointments (yes, we’re talking to you, Senator McConnell), roll calls, “benign amendments”, and suspension votes.  We do not have a Tea Party Congress yet; we merely have a minority of individuals who are aligned with the virtues of the Tea Party.

We got this from a reader who finds Redstate.com worth following. It’s not. Or else they’d already know the military has commissioned studies that denounce the Navy SEALs for being “too-white” and have spent millions trying to find Black people to replace them.

So in an effort to create diversity in the intelligence community, we must throw money at HBCU (which The New York Times called a waste of money) and mandate quotas for minorities and the reporting of the percentage of non-whites within the military. Oh, and we have to help Black people (who already don’t enjoy studying abroad) study abroad so they can immerse themselves in other cultures.

All we can think of when we read stories like this are hilarious scenes from film and Spies Like Us come to mind right now. We are a nation that has a military where men of the caliber of Alvin Greene can make careers pushing papers in the military and men of the caliber of Navy SEALs, Naval Academy cadets and US Coast Guard Cadets can be told they are too white and must have standards lowered to accommodate Black people who can’t even pass firefighter tests.

And now, we need more Black people to become spies like us but have to lower standards to achieve that goal.

Of course seeing Dr. J or Dr. Dre try and perform this scene from Spies Like Us would be hilarious.

The Battle of Athens

The Battle of Athens

A murder stirred up the trouble.

For the past three days, Athens has been rocked by violence. It all began on Tuesday morning, when a 44-year-old man, Manolis Kantaris, was killed by three Mahgrebs (Morrocan or Algerian according to the police), as they tried to rob him of a video camera he was carrying. The most shocking part, and that which infuriated Greek citizenry, was the fact that the victim carried the video camera because he was going to take his wife to the hospital where she was to give birth to their second child. It was five in the morning, and he was heading to pick up his car so he could transport his wife and mother-in-law. When they saw he was late, they searched for him and found him in a pool of blood. The security cameras of a nearby store showed three dark colored men attacking him and stabbing him in the body and neck as he tried to resist.

Neighbors and angry citizens started to gather around the killing spot after a few hours and used thrash bins to stop the traffic. Hundreds of them gathered. Then the first clashes began. At neighboring streets and plazas in the area, which is the most heavily populated by immigrants, various Africans and South Asians were attacked and beaten. There were also attacks on anarchist squats with the police intervening to protect them.

The next day, we had two more incidents. During a demonstration (organized by leftist parties and anarchists) a demonstrator was heavily injured, allegedly by the police, and moved to the hospital in a coma. Later in the night, an Asian man was attack and killed allegedly by three men talking Greek and wearing in hoods. The police are investigating “racist” motives for the attack (read: “hate crime”).

Those incidents led us to two simultaneous demonstration in the centre of Athens on Thursday, May 12.

The one earlier in the afternoon was called by residents of the area where Kantaris was killed. Somewhere around 4,000 people gathered. After the police did not let them march towards certain squares with a heavy immigrant population, they went towards the city hall of Athens. The police did not anticipate such a crowd, and having to deal with a second demonstration but as well with a football match between two major Athens clubs did not have the numbers to contain it.

Numerous immigrant-owned shops were smashed; there were a lot of clashes between black-clad youth and immigrants as well as with the police. There were also waves of attacks against anarchist-owned squats. About 50 people were taken in police custody.

At the same time, 3,000 leftists and anarchists were gathering in the centre of Athens. Molotov cocktails were tossed were thrown at banks and at the police. But these ended quite early. Up until the morning, the center of Athens was described as being a free for all situation with clashes everywhere, mainly attacks on immigrants.

The morning of Friday 13th, came with another Greek pensioner stabbed, possibly by immigrants, again after he withdrew some money from a bank. The tension is still building up, as the first murder spot has become vigil, with people there almost 24 hours a day; the police describe it as a rallying point for attacks on immigrants.

Greece is a country that has had to deal with immigrants only in the last 20 years. The first wave of immigrants were Europeans, mainly Albanians and other Eastern Europeans; they generally caused an increase in crime, but did not create major social clashes. The second wave of African and South Asian immigration has caused a great deal of tension, especially in the centre of Athens, which is sometimes described as a huge ghetto. For the past three years though, civilians in certain areas of the center have refused to move out, as so many have done; they have organized themselves into “committees” and actively resisted the “takeover of their neighborhoods,” as they call it.

What has happened over the last days was a precursor of what we can expect in the future in many European cities—that is, urban warfare.

Where are All the Women?

Where are All the Women?

It’s a question one cannot avoid asking or avoid hearing in this movement: Where are all the women? Females are noticeably absent, save for the wives who get dragged along to events by their husbands. Being female myself, people often ask me why I think this is or what can be done to change it. I don’t consider myself an expert on the subject, but since I have been asked about it frequently, it is a question to which I have devoted some thought.

The main factors that I believe result in a lack of female participation are a generally hostile atmosphere in the movement, minimal or non-existent social acceptability, and an excessively political orientation.

The overall hostility towards women is, in my view, probably the biggest factor. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not a bra-burning feminist nor do I hate men. In fact, some of my best friends are men (all of them are, actually except for two) and I don’t approve of the way modern society tends to build up women at the expense of men.

But there are a LOT of bitter men in this movement. I’m sure you know the type: The ones who blame women for all of society’s problems, as well as for their own personal problems; the ones who view women as little more than baby-making machines and are resentful of women who do anything besides raise children; and the ones who think women are inferior to men (intellectually or otherwise) and therefore have nothing useful to contribute.

I can’t say if these people are in the majority or not, but it doesn’t matter. They are so vocal that one cannot avoid hearing them and any woman who encounters this, particularly one who is on the fence, is likely to be put off by it, if not driven off completely. No one wants to participate in an activity where they are being put down, denigrated, and criticised at every turn. Most people’s participation in anything is contingent upon feeling valued by other members of the group. This kind of anti-female language that is so prevalent does not make women feel as though their contributions toward activism will be valued, nor does it give the impression that this movement has something better to offer the average woman than does modern society.

But it’s not just men! I’ve encountered some pretty hostile language from other women, too, who believe that any woman who isn’t having a million babies and keeping house for her husband is a radical feminist. That is also extremely off-putting and sends the message that any woman who wants to be involved in this movement is expected to give up her own dreams and aspirations and focus only on having a family. However, having children is not activism. It is important and necessary, but it is not activism. Most women were born with a uterus and a brain and we are capable of using them both. Currently the face of this movement is entirely male and until there is a noticeable female presence, it will fail to mainstream.

That leads me to the next factor, the lack of social acceptability. Contrary to popular belief, women are not all that left-wing. In fact, women tend to become more conservative as they get older and have families. There are a lot of right-leaning women out there. And they are not participating in our movement. Why?

Most people do not seek out ostracism. Participating in this movement, especially openly, means having all sorts of unpleasant labels attached to one by default. Guilty by association. Many of our men may not have a problem with that and feel that they can “go it alone”, if they must, but women aren’t hard-wired that way.

To date, very little has been done to mainstream the movement. It has remained on the fringes, primarily attracting fringe individuals who cannot find social acceptance in other circles. This is starting to change, slowly. When women can join this movement without fear of ostracism and loss of their entire support network of friends and family, they will flock to it. It’s not that women don’t care. It’s just that there is not much in this movement as a movement (as opposed to a set of personal beliefs) that is worth potentially placing in jeopardy one’s reputation, livelihood, or physical safety.

This goes back to what I said about offering women something better than does modern society. Promising a woman that her only reward for participation will be becoming outcast in regular society is not particularly enticing (especially if it comes with a rigid enforcement of gender roles). But if and when the movement mainstreams, it will be in a better position to offer something more attractive and beneficial to women. Men can afford to hold to impractical ideological principles like multiculturalism and diversity, but women will almost always break ranks when it is in their or their children’s best interests.

Lastly, current means of activism offer very little that is of interest to the average woman. Most activism is centered on political activism. Conference, rallies, blogging, etc. are not activities that appeal to women, on the whole. Women generally are more inclined towards social causes.

Political causes are largely a man’s game. Politics requires a level of confrontation and competition with which many women are not comfortable, either because of their own gentler nature or because they have been socialised not to be aggressive in that manner. I get the impression sometimes that men expect women to be as enthusiastic about political causes as they are, not realising that by offering no other options for participation, they get either half-hearted efforts from the women who do participate or they attract Sarah Palin types who think they are honourary men and are generally an embarrassment to the movement. The remainder of the women just sit on the sidelines, not knowing how they can help and feeling generally useless and left out.

There is no organisation in this movement that focuses on the social problems of our people and no one coordinating efforts to solve those problems. It’s not that we don’t think political causes are important. We know they are, but they don’t engage our sensibilities. We derive a lot more satisfaction out of helping someone in need than in writing letters to our senators and the results of social activism are usually more immediate. I engage in political activism because it is essential, but I much prefer opportunities to help our people directly and in a tangible way.

Social causes are something women are historically very good at taking charge of and turning into a success. Our movement could benefit a lot from organisations whose focus is on helping people and the existence of such organisations would attract more women by offering them activism options that are interesting to them and give them a chance to utilise the talents they have. Women tend to be community builders and would excel at providing a framework in which we can offer services and support to our people.

Additionally, having groups whose purpose is to help others can put a more positive spin on the movement, helping to debunk the myth that we are all just haters. Any serious political movement should have an arm whose purpose it is to improve the community and the lives of the people in it.

So how do we put this into action and start attracting more women?

First, negative attitudes about women have to change. Make the movement more welcoming to women. Get rid of the He-Man Woman Haters Club- it is toxic to our movement and serves only to feed the stereotype that we are made up entirely of older, reactionary men who are living in the past.

Second, get those new women (and the older ones, too) involved in social activism for our people that engages their sensibilities and makes use of the talents that come naturally to women. Put them to work as the new face of the movement and they will not only attract more women, but also more men, increasing our overall numbers and the amount of talent available to us.

Once these things have been achieved, mainstreaming this movement will come much more easily, but until then, we will continue to have very little political power and our influence will remain limited. Women are essential to the success of this movement. Anyone who is serious about the future of our people should be making it a priority to reach out to women and make them feel welcome.

14 May

This story has been on the back burner since it occurred on the fifth of May, 2011. The decision to publish it was made weeks after I started collecting the information which necessitated the list below for reference. Please read it and visit the links to familiarize yourself with the incident.

In brief: Tucson, AZ, Beginning May 5th, 2011 to posting date.

Story #1 May 5th-  The Pima County Regional SWAT Team was deployed in the service of warrants for”‘narcotics conspiracy” investigations at three locations in Tucson. At one location, a residence, deputies entered and were confronted by a man firing a long-rifle. Suspect was killed. The wife and child were able to exit the house prior to the shooting. The Sheriff’s Department is still investigating. (http://www.kgun9.com/)

Story #2 May 9th-  Information received from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department identifies the suspect as 26-year-old Jose Guerena and the investigation now reveals the suspect pointed the weapon at the deputies but did not open fire. Additionally the rifles safety was in the ‘on’ position “but was loaded”. His wife and 4-year-old son were also at the home but were uninjured. (http://www.kgun9.com/)

Story #3 May 10th-  Neighbors interviewed regarding the 9:45 Thursday morning raid” called the incident “crazy” and the Guerena family “was the quiet family on the street”. PCSD deputies told KGUN 9 News the deputies were serving a search warrant without stating the reason for it. According to the deputies they were walking down a hallway when Guerena pointed a weapon at them and fired. The deputies were forced to return fire killing the suspect. The deputies SWAT shields took the hits from the rounds fired by Guerena. The deputies referred to the “high risk” nature of the warrants for the justification to use a SWAT team. Deputies later searched the house but did not disclose what was seized. (http://www.kgun9.com/)

Story #4 May 11th-  New information released identifies the suspect killed in the shoot-out as a former Marine Corps veteran with two tours of duty in Iraq. He had a military rifle in his possession at the time of the shooting. His wife and child were hiding in the closet during the incident, having been told to do so by Jose Guerena, after being awakened by his frightened wife after she saw “this guy pointing me at the window. Please don’t shoot, I have a baby!” I yelled, “Jose! Jose! wake up!” Jose Guerena had fallen asleep two hours prior after working a graveyard shift at the Asarco Mine and awakened to chaos in his house. His wife stated that he retrieved the weapon thinking a home invasion was occurring. Deputies stated that reports that the SWAT teams shields were riddled with bullets were untrue, that evidence pertinent to the investigation of narcotics conspiracy was recovered during the search and that seventy-one (71) bullets were fired by deputies. Vanessa Guerena stated there was no money or drugs in their house.  (http://www.kgun9.com/)

Story #5 May 11th-  The Arizona Daily Star reports today that the SWAT team fired seventy-one shots in seven seconds at Jose Guerena, a Marine Corps veteran with two tours service in Iraq. He was holding a AR-15, which was discovered to be in ‘safe’ mode when examined, although deputies had earlier reported Guerena fired at them. Vanessa Guerena states that there were no sirens or shouts of “police” prior to entry by deputies and that her husband armed himself fearing a home invasion. Lt. Michael O’Conner stated, “Tucson is notorious for home invasions and we didn’t want to look like that. We went lights and sirens and we absolutely did not do a ‘no knock’ warrant.” O’Conner further stated,”The suspect said, ‘I’ve got something for you’ when he saw them.” O’Conner also said that a deputies bullet struck the side of the doorway and splintered into a deputy’s shield, causing the others to believe Guerena had fired his weapon. Although deputies called the Drexel Heights fire station at 9:43 AM crews were told to hold off upon arrival. “When came out the officers dragged me through the kitchen and took me outside, and that’s when I saw him laying there gasping for air. I kept begging the officers to call an ambulance that maybe he could make it and that my baby was still inside,” Vanessa Guerena said. Her son walked out of the closet on his own and SWAT members took him outside. Although deputies seized a large sum of money from other raided homes that morning they did not say what was seized from Guerena’s residence. (http://azstarnet.com/)

Story #5 May 12th-  New releases of information reveal that the responding ambulance crew was forced to wait an hour and fourteen minutes after having arrived on scene in two minutes following receipt of the call at 09:43 AM . They never were granted permission to examine Jose Guerena, who was killed by SWAT deputies May 5th. (At the scene of Gabriel Gifford’s shooting January 8th, 2011, they were admitted after only a twelve-minute delay.) (KGUN 9)

Story #6 May 13th-  New releases as of this date. Lt. Michael O’Connor says SWAT says it never wants to be mistaken for other people, “We had our large armored vehicle there with the markings on it. It also has lights and sirens. It was going. So we do everything we can to try to portray the image that we’re law enforcement, we’re not home invaders.” But, Guerena’s wife, Vanessa, who hid in the closet with her youngest son while 71 rounds were fired her husband’s direction, said she heard nothing. At any point did you hear them yell, ‘police” or ‘SWAT’?” KGUN9 asked. “No, no!” answered Guerena. A neighbor who heard the shooting corroborates the wife’s account, “The only sirens I heard out here were like maybe 20-30 minutes into the entire ordeal,” said David Watson. Watson is very familiar with gunfire and stressful situations; he’s a Vietnam combat veteran, “I want to make this as clear as possible: you only heard the announcements after you heard the gunfire?” asked KGUN9 reporter Joel Waldman. Watson quickly answered, “Yes!” (http://www.kgun9.com/)

Story #7 May 14th-  http://azstarnet.com/news/local/crime/article_b3177522-baa0-5c9e-9f0d-d3d7da6e9e4b.html  Take the time to read this. It is a reasonable overview of the incident.

Now add this to the tragedy above: COURT: NO RIGHT TO RESIST COP ENTRY INTO HOME http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_ec169697-a19e-525f-a532-81b3df229697.html There is a PDF file of the decision available for download at the site.

Round-up:

Jose Guerena is dead, his wife widowed, children fatherless. Immediately after the shooting the SWAT team withdrew and, according to the timeline, he was left wounded and untreated for over an hour until he died of his wounds. Questions abound regarding the events of the mid-morning raid and the justification for the tactics used, the immediate aftermath, and the major discrepancies in the statements from law enforcement.

In my opinion it matters not one whit whether Mr. Guerena was involved in a “narcotics conspiracy” or not. The legal penalties available as punishment for engaging in a narcotics conspiracy do not include the death sentence. In my experience the tactic of deploying a SWAT team for the purpose of collecting information, and/or evidence, based upon the issuance of a warrant for those purposes is nothing less than an excessive use of  force. The death of Mr. Guerena, as a result of this ill-conceived deployment, should be investigated by the Arizona State Attorney General and Federal authorities for both criminal and civil violations and prosecution of same. Of course the likelihood is that neither will occur and a final report will justify not only the actions of the officers involved, but any official who ordered the raid to go forward. I will express my shock and surprise if any other result is forthcoming!

What happened to good old-fashioned police work? Why was a SWAT team used instead of a well-dressed detective(s) in a business suit, warrant and identification in hand, administering a knock and announcement at the front door, with or without an uniformed officer being present? Why wasn’t Mr. Guerena approached in a civil manner at work or stopped by uniformed officers on his way to or from work? Wouldn’t Mrs. Guerena have been much easier to deal with if she hadn’t been in fear of a group of blacked-out, helmeted, armed men at her door? Why risk chaos and confusion on the part of the residents of a household with a militant display of overwhelming force and the ever-present threat of death to the occupants as a result of fear or a communication error? It would have been much easier and less deadly to all concerned to have used a more reasoned approach to investigate a non-violent crime. After all, Mr. Guerena is to be presumed innocent is he not?

Does Mr. Guerena bear responsibility for his own death by arming himself? Guerena was asleep after working a graveyard shift at the Asarco Mine, startled semi-awake by the anguished cries of his wife and fearing a home invasion which is common in the area surrounding his home. Could it be he is at fault for arming himself against such a perceived threat? His weapon was found set to safe upon recovery by deputies. Hardly what would be expected of a Marine Corps veteran intent on doing harm. Is it possible that he recognized, all too late, that the ‘home invaders’ were deputies and switched the weapon to ‘safe’ and in seconds was then shot to death for being armed?

This is the price we will continue to pay for the ‘War on Drugs’ and the continued use of paramilitary units for anything less than active shooting scenes, such as confirmed barricaded suspects with or without hostages, sniping incidents or the like. These were the original reasons for the establishment of SWAT units. Couple this incident with the decision from the Indiana Supreme Court and I can only hope that I and mine, or you and yours, don’t suffer the same fate, as we are all at the mercy of an ever-expanding government, at all levels, desirous of greater power and control.

While you enjoy the comfort of your home and family, give a moments thought at what your reaction will be when; with the explosion of a flash-bang grenade or two in your home, the crash of splintering wood and glass, the sight of a ‘stick’ of heavily armed, black-clad, helmeted and masked men invade your home.

Sleep well and good luck to you. As for me, I’ll likely be sharing the fate of Jose Guerena.

Locust: I agree,

Deliberate. Nationwide.

Jose Guerena was murdered in his home while protecting his family from rogue trespassing thugs hired to be a standing army, created in our midst for this very purpose. For many years, his pay was taxed/diverted to to pay for their training, medical, mortgages, and food and board. His son still owes a huge debt to his fathers killers that he will continue to pay for, for his entire life.

It not a question of if, but when they come for you and for me. At some point, our founders reached this same conclusion.

Somber Thoughts on Race and Ethnicitye

May 14, 2011

I have just read Jared Taylor’s new book,White Identity.(see right-hand column if interested) The title might lead one to expect racial ranting, but there is none. It is a good read. Jared deals thoughtfully with America’s changing racial and ethnic make-up and the probable consequences. He is usually painted as a hate-monger who regards his bed sheets as evening wear, wants (as Lincoln did) to send blacks back to Africa, shoot Hispanics, and blame Jews for sun spots and loose fillings. Alas, he fails to perform. The book is no more extreme than Pat Buchanan, well documented, and utterly incorrect politically. His crime is asking questions one mustn’t because the answers come up wrong.

For example, he doubts the existence, and the desirability, of racial integration, as very distinct from desegregation. It hasn’t worked, he says.

Isn’t this obvious? I ask my readers, most of whom are white, how many close black friends do you have? When did you last have them over for dinner? We talk mixing. We don’t do it.

I lived a couple of decades in Washington, DC, a city mostly black, and had many white liberal friends. They believed they believed in multiculturalism, but they—we—lived in an overwhelmingly white world: white restaurants, friends, bars, clubs, dances. I can’t remember even once being in an establishment in which the majority, or anything close to it, were black.  Whites associate with whites, blacks with blacks. That’s how it is.

Jared points out that most of what we think we are supposed to think about race and ethnicity isn’t true. He notes the mandatory refrain, “Diversity is our strength,” and asks, exactly how is it our strength? I have myself wondered. Name five ways diversity has made the country stronger (without mentioning ethnic restaurants or music).

Um…ah…well…ah…urg.

The book is a curious one in that most of it is obvious though one mustn’t say it. Does not diversity just cause trouble, almost everywhere? As much as one might want it to lead to comity, it doesn’t. Consider:  Shiites and Sunnis, Irish Protestants and Catholics, Hutus and Tutsis; blacks, whites and Hispanics in the US; Turks and Kurds; Tamils and Sinhalese in Sri Lanka, Turks and Armenians; Indians and Ugandans; Turks and Germans; Moslems and the French; Moslems and Dutch; Jews in many places; Christians and Moslems in Sudan; Chinese and Indonesians, and so on for pages. None of these groups is evil, but none mix well. Usually they kill each other.

A staple of political correctness is that groups eventually merge into happy indistinguishable citizens. Occasionally, yes, if the groups are similar and want to assimilate: The Irish and Italians in the US did.  Jared points out that, whatever one might wish, it usually doesn’t happen. Sunnis and Shiites have been around since the seventh century. They celebrate diversity by exchanging car bombs. In the US, neither blacks nor Amerindians have assimilated to the dominant European culture, nor have the cultures blended.

Jared notes that the US now has fifty million Hispanics, or sixteen percent of the population, expected to rise soon to twice that, as well as thirteen percent of blacks. Now, since I live in Mexico, have a Mexican wife, and speak Spanish at home, it will be difficult to nail me with racial hatred of Hispanics. Nor do I hate blacks. But…is this going to work? Or are we going to end up with three mutually hostile countries in one land? The possibility is real. Several states, including California, have Hispanic majorities, which means that shortly they will have Hispanic governments. If the majority vote as a bloc—bingo.

Aggravating the problem is that the people who most believe that we will eventually be one big happy family are those with the least experience. They have never been in the huge, hopeless, festering slums of Detroit, Chicago, Newark, Washington, on and on and on. These are awful, culturally isolated, and not getting better. If there is an answer, no one has found it.

Americans hardly notice the cost of diversity, as they have never known anything else. Jared was born in Japan to missionary parents, went to Japanese schools, and speaks Japanese. He makes the point that in Japan there is virtually no diversity, and therefore no civil-rights acts, no forced busing, no governmental agencies counting how many of whom one hires, no voting-rights laws, no affirmative action and resulting anger. An employer simply hires the best qualified candidate. And the Japanese do not burn their cities in racial rioting.

We are what we are, a mixed nation, but need we make things worse? Unrestricted immigration may let us feel good about ourselves, but does it really have a happy ending? One maywell wonder what will follow when half of the country is either black or Hispanic.

Further, when some groups are economically and academically way below the dominant culture, hostility and separatism become almost assured. As Jared points out, blacks and Hispanics are on average scholastic disasters. In the schools the gap in achievement is large between white and black, and has proven resistant to everything: Head Start, forced busing, integrated class rooms, segregated class rooms, affirmative action, schools run entirely by blacks, or entirely by whites, and so on. Hispanics in the US are not doing a whole lot better. If the shortfall doesn’t change, it won’t matter whether it is genetic or cultural in origin.

The implications, discussion of which is verboten, are not trivial. The US depends on and rewards deployable intelligence, particularly on IQs bordering on the scary, as in 180 and up. The clearest examples are in Silicon Valley, many of them from the physics department at Stanford or Harvard. These men—almost all are men—have given the US its dominance in technology. They are not just bright, like the valedictorian in your high school. They are off-scale, almost another species.

If you follow the computer/internet racket, you know that they are overwhelmingly white, Jewish (a subset of white, granted), Chinese, Asian Indian, Korean. The black and Hispanic proportion is close to zero if not actually zero. This isn’t because of racial discrimination. Santa Clara runs on raw brains, and doesn’t care what package they come in. Google would hire a giant clam if it could program well enough.

Sez me, this is not going to lead to cheery Kum Bah Yah harmony. As the country becomes a two-tier society—it already is, but as the second tier grows rapidly in size and political potency—how is this going to work?

Jared will disappoint many by not making exterminationist recommendations. But if you want a clear exposition of what is happening, he’s worth a read.
