Hello, and welcome back to another edition of American Dissident Voices, the Internet radio program of the National Alliance. I’m your host and Chairman of the Alliance, Erich Gliebe.
Today’s broadcast will be the speech I delivered at the National Alliance’s Leadership Conference held at our National Office in Mill Point, West Virginia last weekend.
Welcome to the fall leadership conference of the National Alliance. I truly believe that this organization is the key to the survival of our race in the Western Hemisphere, and that those of us gathered here are the nucleus of a struggle for power that will eventually end with either our total victory or total defeat. That is a heavy burden for us to bear, but we should take a deserved pride in our having made the choice to attempt the resurrection of our race. It will be no easy task, but all we can do is to give our utmost — and to encourage our kinsmen worldwide to do the same — in pursuit of our noble ends. Let’s make this conference bring noticeable gains to our organization, both for the near and the distant future.
The talk on the street these days, of course, is the economy. Firstly, gas prices are high, and that increases the cost of every other type of consumer item as well, including food. The housing market is on the decline, with property values in many areas dipping below what people owe on those properties. Coupled with the overextension of credit, these issues have caused lending institutions to tighten up on the money they would normally lend out to businesses to feed the economy. When Wall Street began to get edgy, Uncle Sam stepped in, and last week the Congress passed — and President Bush signed — a $700 billion bailout plan to try to stop the bleeding. The problem isn’t just in the U.S.; governments of Europe and Asia took similar reactionary measures in recent weeks. The worldwide economic picture is uncertain. Those are the times we find ourselves in today.
Understandably, all of this has the vast majority of White Americans worried. None of us here today are immune to the effects of the economic crunch, nor to the fear that an uncertain future brings. Obviously, there’s absolutely nothing that we in the National Alliance can do to pull the U.S. out of the economic slump; there’s no guarantee that the government’s dumping of $700 billion towards the problem will even be enough to do that. So the two concerns for us are these: One, do what you can to keep yourself and your own family out of economic trouble, and two, we have to keep the Alliance going and — believe it or not — GROWING during this turbulent time.
For yourself, you’re going to have to watch your cash flow carefully, which most of you have been doing already. I know I have. But at the same time, please consider what it would mean for our organization if members drop out or reduce their dues payments in order to pinch pennies. We would have to start cutting, just like everyone else and, in a worst-case scenario, shut down completely. I think we can all understand that shutting down and then, at a later time, having to try to start the organization up again would be far more difficult and far more expensive in the long run than it will be to keep the ball rolling, even though the times are tough. And in the long run, it isn’t necessarily about our organization: it’s about our race. Our race can’t afford for the National Alliance to take time off. It might not yet realize how much it needs us, but there will come a time when it will.
But enough of the gloom and doom. I don’t believe that our members are going to depart from our mission and their commitments. Some will have to reduce their dues payments out of absolute necessity, but most will find other places to trim the budget so that they can continue supporting our organization. Even after many months of tight budgets, there are still many nonessentials that can be cut out of most people’s spending habits. And if our members respond to that challenge, then we can tackle the next problem that we face; and that is the problem of not only maintaining the Alliance where it is, but going further.
A bad economy is going to have an unknown effect on our membership. On the one hand, prospective new members might hedge at joining because they don’t want to pay dues, which would further tighten family budgets. In addition, there is the massive pressure of the Jewish media and the government using scare tactics in an attempt to frighten people away. So we shouldn’t be surprised if our membership growth stagnates over the next few months, or even years, assuming the recession lasts into the next decade.
But don’t count on it, because history tells a story that is at least equally compelling, and quite possibly more so. National Socialism was born during the early part of the last century in a Germany that was reeling economically under the yoke of the infamous Treaty of Versailles, which placed the entire blame for the First World War on Germany’s shoulders, as well as the obligation to pay war reparations to the victorious nations of the Entente.
Hitler’s struggle for the self-emancipation of Germany was a small movement for several years. During those early years, there was no shortage of economic hardship for the German people and no shortage of effort on the part of the NSDAP to awaken the consciousness of the German people. But after the stock market crash of 1929 which set off the Great Depression, the economic hardships of Germans increased exponentially. But instead of retreating into their own personal lives and fortunes, the magnified hardship brought Germans out of their shells and made them look for new solutions to Germany’s problems.
And when they found those new solutions in the program of the NSDAP, they threw their support behind Hitler. The Party grew immensely within a short period of time and, barely three years after the Crash of ‘29, Hitler took power as the legally-elected Chancellor of Germany. It was a remarkable turn of events for a man who had been imprisoned less than ten years earlier on charges of leading the unsuccessful Beer Hall Putsch, and for an organization that had the smallest of followings for years following its inception.
Of course, just because the German National Socialists experienced massive growth when the economy went south doesn’t mean that we will in the Alliance. We can’t take any solace in the old adage, “History repeats itself,” because every era has its own set of circumstances and, obviously, the people of one era are not the same ones who were around in a previous era. So we can’t just “go with the flow” and expect that we’ll have the same sort of success in these trying economic times that the NSDAP had in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
And do you know what? We don’t WANT history to repeat itself. For the last few hundred years at least — and some would argue for a much longer period than that — our ancestors have come up short in promoting the survival and progress of our race. They have chosen short-term goals over long-term ones; they have greedily chosen individual success over group success; they have opted to give money more weight than blood; they have dealt with their own personal — often financial — concerns and have allowed aliens to take over our media so that the ideas we are exposed to are the ones that are pushing us towards extinction. THAT’S why the White race is in such a bind today, and so I say, “To hell with history. It’s the future we’re after.”
That future that we’re after is the future of the entire White race. Wherever there are White people on this planet, we intend to unify those of good will among them and to clear a large space on this continent that will be home to as many of those White as have a desire for a homogeneous racial state. Once we have achieved such a state in North America, we will try to do so elsewhere, first in Europe, and then on other continents.
That is a huge job that is before us, and you might be doubting whether or not we are up to the task. But thinking back to 1924, when Hitler entered Landsberg prison, how many of even the most loyal National Socialists could have predicted their eventual rise to power less than a decade hence? How many of them doubted, and then quit? How many believed, and stayed in the fight? And — most importantly — how many doubted, and yet overcame their doubts and stayed in the fight, for whatever reason — whether it was a devotion to a man or to a cause or to his own honor? There are times when every man is wracked with doubt, but only the honorable man continues to do what is right until the doubt is vaporized and is once again replaced by absolute certainty that success is within reach.
Success IS within our reach. We have to weather the storm of the current conditions, both political and economic. There is no guarantee of success, but neither is there any guarantee of failure. All we can do — and all I ask of you who are gathered here — is to give our noble cause your very best and most devoted effort.
The pantheon of our race’s heroes is not limited to great military and political leaders, directors of nations, and the philosophers of racialism and the Life Force. The pantheon is open to otherwise ordinary White men and women who perform extraordinary acts of dedication so that the halls of that pantheon are continually flushed with new White heroes of every successive generation. Let’s not only keep the halls of the pantheon open…let’s earn a place there ourselves.
