We’ve had many rumblings and warnings that California is about to go bankrupt, and yet at the last minute the scum who govern the state always seem to find some way to keep all the balls juggling in the air and keep those welfare checks coming. I’m sure by now the state’s ruling elite think they can keep the juggle going forever. They can’t. At some point the system must collapse, but when?
CNBC reports: “Jerry Brown, California’s governor, declared a state of fiscal emergency on Thursday for the government of the most populous US state to press lawmakers to tackle its $25.4 billion budget gap.”
Oh, come on now! How in hell are they going to make 25.4 billion dollars appear out of nowhere? And remember, this is money that the idiots governing the state have borrowed at interest. How much interest alone, per day, is California paying?
CNBC goes on: “Democrat Brown’s declaration follows a similar one made last month by his predecessor Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Republican governor. Democrats who control the legislature declined to act on Schwarzenegger’s declaration, saying they would instead wait to work on budget matters with Brown, who served two terms as California’s governor in the 1970s and 1980s. Brown was sworn in to his third term early this month and has presented lawmakers with a plan to balance the state’s books with $12.5 billion in spending cuts and revenue from tax extensions that voters must first approve.”
Someone should tell Jerry that the state has changed a lot from when it was 80 percent White when he was first governor. It’s been one long steady invasion from Mexico coming into California since the 1970s. Today California has a non-White majority, and White taxpayers and White-owned businesses are fleeing the state as quickly as they can to escape the ever-increasing taxes to pay for all the needy Third World people.
One way the state of California could save an immense amount of money would be to adopt the Part Time Legislature proposition (just like Texas). At present the legislature sits all year round. If California will just chase those leeches away from Sacramento for nine months out of the year they would spend a lot less money.
CNBC: “Brown has said he wants lawmakers to act on his plan by March. His fiscal emergency declaration is meant to underscore that target, an official said. Brown’s declaration, which is largely procedural, says it affirms Schwarzenegger’s December declaration, giving lawmakers 45 days to address the state’s fiscal troubles. The 72-year-old governor also wants the legislature to back a ballot measure for a special election in June that would ask voters to extend tax increases expiring this year to help fill the state budget’s shortfall.”:
In other words, like all Democrats, Brown’s plan is to raise taxes instead of cut spending. No word on whether the state’s wealthiest Democrats, the Hollywood and Beverly Hills elite, would be compelled to pay any significant proportion of their immense wealth into the state coffers.
CNBC: “Brown needs a handful of Republican votes to put the measure to voters. Republican leaders in the legislature have said they doubt those votes will come.”
Any Republicans who think they can get away with helping the Democrats put this bill on the ballot need to remember what the John and Ken radio show did to the last Republican tax traitors. Just look up Mike Villines and Abel Maldonado.
